With an aim to promote transnational collaboration in the fields of scientific information and technology, the National Documentation Center of Greece (EKT) and the Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of China signed a Memorandum of Understanding on June 12, 2012. Evangelos Bouboukas, Director of EKT, and Dr. Defang He, President of ISTIC, and their working groups signed the Memorandum and sealed their cooperation during a meeting at the National Hellenic Research Foundation.

Greece Initiates New Innovation Fund
The Greek government established a new Innovation Fund, a financial unit within the established New Economy Development Fund (TANEO)

The establishment of this new financial instrument is a completion of the design for the Venture Capital Fund, which was announced by the Ministry of Education in January 2012.

The purpose of the Innovation Fund is to encourage innovative, dynamic enterprises, especially those in high technology, by providing venture capital. A key objective is to motivate private investors to supply risk capital to companies that seek to develop business activities in technology innovation.
