Promoting Greece in New York, London, Asia, and Israel

As Greece increasingly comes into focus by the global business community, Invest in Greece has been active in getting out the word about investment opportunity. 

Invest in Greece at NY Forum
Invest in Greece Agency Chairman Mr. Aristomenis (Aris) Syngros and CEO Mr. Stephanos Issaias are participating in the Greek Investment Forum in New York on October 9th-11th 2012, to promote investment opportunities in Greece to US companies and investors. The event is co-organised by the Athens Exchange and the American - Hellenic Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with the Hellenic - American Chamber of Commerce in New York.

Minister of Tourism, Mrs. Olga Kefalogianni, and Deputy Minister of Development, Mr. Notis Mitarachi, are addressing the event, attended by leading members of the U.S. investment community.  The Forum is designed to highlight the many opportunities that Greece offers to investors in a broad number of areas, at a time when Greece is redrawing its investment landscape and focusing attention of creating one of the most business friendly environments in all of Europe.

House of Hellenes at London 2012 Olympic Games
On the occasion of the “House of Hellenes” initiative, that took place during the Olympic Games of London 2012, Invest in Greece hosted an investment seminar: “Greece: Investment Opportunities—Today and Tomorrow”, where the Head of the Economic and Commercial Section of the Embassy of Greece in London, Mr. Antonis Katepodis; the President of the British Hellenic Chamber of Commerce, Harris Ikonomopoulos; the Chairman of the Board of Hellenic Bankers Association – UK, Christos J. Megalou; and the Chairman of Invest in Greece Agency, Mr. Aristomenis (Aris) M. Syngros were keynote speakers.

The seminar was held at the Carlton Club on Wednesday 1 August 2012. The seminar, hosted by Invest in Greece Agency in cooperation with the Embassy of Greece in London and the British Hellenic Chamber of Commerce, was designed to highlight investment trends in Greece and opportunities in the priority sectors of Shipping, Tourism, Food and Beverage, Energy, Waste Management, ICT and Pharma.

Greece is increasingly becoming the focus of interest as an investment destination as structural reforms are implemented, legislation such as the Fast Track Law makes significant inroads, and opportunities are identified in a wide number of areas and sectors.

Shimon Peres, President of Israel, visited Greece for three days, August 9-11, at the invitation of Karolos Papoulias, President of the Hellenic Republic. The purpose of the visit was to upgrade bilateral relations and to focus discussions between the two countries on investment, energy, tourism, shipping, agricultural development, environmental management, and commerce.

Following the visit, Invest in Greece Chairman Aristomenis (Aris) M. Syngros authored an article for the Jerusalem Post that discussed the wide variety of investment opportunities in Greece as well as the many areas of cooperation that exist between the two Mediterranean countries.

MorningWhistle
Since 2007, China has hosted Summer Davos—World Economic Forum. This year it was held September 11-13 in Tianjin. China’s MorningWhistle, an English-language business news, analysis and opinion site, published an interview with Aristomenis (Aris) M. Syngros, Chairman of Invest in Greece Agency, to coincide with the event. Mr. Syngros discussed Greece’s macroeconomic trends and investment policy, investment opportunities in Greece, and China’s interest in the Greek market.

Boao Review
The Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) launched its official publication, the Boao Review magazine, on June 27, 2012 in Beijing. The magazine is designed to  facilitate global economic management, inspire ideas, consolidate consensus and encourage cooperation amongst Asian and global economies so that all sides can enjoy mutual and win-win development.

Boao Review is the only official BFA publication magazine.
