Success for Greece’s Golden Hall Shopping Center

The International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) awarded Greece’s Golden Hall Shopping Center with distinction of “Most Attractive Gallery” at its European annual conference, held in Prague.

Golden Hall prevailed over numerous applicants from all European countries, among them MyZeil in Frankfurt. Golden Hall Shopping Center manager Theodoros Pantis said: “This award proves that we are ahead of our competitors and that we are setting new quality standards, not only in Greece but also in Europe.”

Golden Hall, the first upscale fashionable shopping center in Athens, opened its doors in November 2008. It offers more than 132 shops and restaurants on a leasing area of approx. 41,000 square meters. Golden Hall is the second shopping center opened by ECE-Lamda Hellas SA – a joint venture of ECE and Lamda Development, a stock listed company specialised in the investment, development and management of real estate. ECE-Lamda already operates the very popular shopping center The Mall Athens.

LAMDA Domi (99.90% subsidiary LAMDA Development), following a 40-year concession from Olympic Properties, transformed one of Athens’ contemporary landmarks, the International Broadcasting Center (IBC) of the 2004 Olympic Games, into Golden Hall, the first upscale fashionable shopping centre in Athens, in three levels and 1,400 underground parking spaces in two levels, as well as an area of approximately 4,500 square metres for office building use. Located in Maroussi, a booming financial and business area, Golden Hall offers 132 high-end stores (40,512.60 square metres of GLA) to a catchment area of 2.2 million people (within a 30-minute drive). The centre is strategically positioned on Kifisias Avenue, the main city artery connecting the city centre to the affluent northern suburbs of Athens. Proximity to Attiki Odos, Athens’ ring road connecting the city to the international airport, ensures direct and fast access to motorways and main arteries in all directions.
