Mission of Foreign and Economic Diplomats to the Region of Central Greece (Sterea Ellada), 30 June – 3 July, 2010
Economic and Commercial Counselors of foreign embassies in Greece successfully completed a business mission to the Region of Central Greece (Sterea Ellada) as part of the Synergassia programme of Invest in Greece. The mission, held from June 30 until July 3, 2010 in Kamena Vourla, was carried out in cooperation with the Region of Central Greece.
A total of 22 diplomats and ambassadors participated in a three-day programme that was launched on June 30, during a dinner hosted by the Secretary General of the Region of Central Greece, Mrs. Katerina Diamantopoulou. The President of Invest in Greece, Dr. Paraskevi V. Boufounou welcomed the participants. Also present at the dinner were the Secretary General of Industry, Mr. Alexandros Fourlas and the CEO of Invest in Greece, Mr. Christos Alexakis.
On July 1, during the mission’s workshop, Secretary General Alexandros Fourlas delivered a welcome address on behalf of Mrs. Louka Katseli, Minister of Economy, Competitiveness and Shipping, thanking the diplomats for their active participation in promoting Greece abroad. Addresses were also made by Mr. Y. Kanelopoulos, Secretary General, Ministry of Rural Development and Food, Dr. Y. Aggeridis, Manager of Energy Efficiency of the Center for Renewable Energy Sources (CRES), Mr. L. Mitropoulos, representative of the Greek National Tourism Organisation (GNTO), Mr. L. Karantzalis, President of the Development Company of Viotia, Mr. K. Tsililis, Member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Wine Producers, and the Presidents of the Chambers of Commerce of Fthiotida, Viotia and Evrytania, Messrs. A. Diamantaras, P. Agniadis, and C. Arvanitis respectively.
Following the workshop, participants visited the “Hatzimichalis Estate”, the Aluminium of Greece – Mytilineos Group and SABO SA.
On July 2, B2B meetings with local outward-looking companies were scheduled with the aim to explore opportunities for cooperation between Greek companies and companies from the countries represented.
