Mission at Region of Central Macedonia

Mission of Foreign and Economic Diplomats to the Region of Central Macedonia, April 28, 2009 

Invest in Greece Agency and the Region of Central Macedonia co-hosted an event, “Local Government and Investment in Central Macedonia”, in Thessaloniki. The event falls within the SYNERGASSIA initiative established by Invest in Greece.

The event was launched with welcome remarks by Professor George D. Tsiortas, Secretary General for the Region of Central Macedonia, followed by a presentation by the Chairman and CEO of Invest in Greece Agency, Dr. Dimitrios Pazaitis, on the new approach of the Agency. Dr. Pazaitis said “Along with the local communities we showcase investment opportunities from our regions and support investment. Our common goal is progress and development.”

The CEO of the Greek Export Organization, Mr. Andreas Katsaniotis, spoke on the importance of outward regional development. In illustrating a contemporary perspective on investment, Mr. Aristidis Arabatzis, Mayor of the Municipality Saint Athanassios, Prefecture of Thessaloniki, presented the Municipality of Saint Athanassios as a case study to discuss best practices for local governments.
