On 11 March 2021, the EU authorised the COVID-19 Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) vaccine for use across the EU. The decision follows a positive recommendation by the European Medicines Agency. The Janssen viral vector vaccine is the first COVID-19 vaccine which can be used with a single dose.
