Business Mission to Kenya – Nairobi, 25–29 January 2026
Athens, 5 February 2026 – Enterprise Greece, the Hellenic-African Chamber of Commerce and Development, the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), SEV – Hellenic Federation of Enterprises, and SEVE – Greek Exporters Association, in cooperation with the Embassy of Greece in Nairobi, the Consulate of Kenya in Greece, and the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI), organized a Business Mission to Kenya (Nairobi) from 25 to 29 January 2026.
The mission included 15 Greek companies operating in the sectors of agrotechnology and agri-food processing, renewable energy, information and communication technologies (ICT) – fintech, pharmaceuticals, construction, infrastructure and building materials, water treatment and management, as well as exports of branded Greek products and imports of Kenyan products. The participating companies held approximately 80 targeted B2B meetings with local firms.
As part of the program, on Monday, 26 January 2026, members of the Greek delegation, together with invited representatives of Kenya’s business and institutional community, attended a reception and official dinner hosted by the Ambassador of Greece to Kenya, Mr. George Psiakhas, at the Greek Ambassador’s Residence.
On Tuesday, 27 January 2026, a Business Forum was held, during which the bilateral economic and trade relations between Greece and Kenya were presented, with emphasis on trade, investment, and prospects for business cooperation. This was followed by bilateral B2B meetings between Greek and Kenyan companies, aimed at fostering meaningful business networking.
Later that day, EUROBANK hosted a dinner in honor of the participants, reaffirming its active support in promoting and strengthening the international outreach of Greek businesses through its digital platform, Exportgate.
On Wednesday, 28 January 2026, members of the business delegation visited two of Nairobi’s most well-known shopping centers, Village Market and Sarit Centre. These visits offered participants first-hand insight into the local retail market, allowing them to observe the dynamics of everyday commercial activity, the composition of the consumer base, and the presence of both international and domestic brands.

In his statement, Mr. Nikolaos Vasileiou, Member of the Board of Directors of Enterprise Greece, noted: “Kenya is a market of strategic importance for Greece’s outward-looking growth and one of the key economic pillars of East Africa. The President of the Hellenic-African Chamber, Mr. Vassilis Takkas, emphasized that Africa is now at the forefront of international business dynamics. Greece has the capacity to actively participate in this new reality with seriousness, strategy, and institutional support. The Hellenic-African Chamber does not build opportunistic contacts—it builds relationships of trust that lead to lasting partnerships.
The mission to Kenya was another meaningful step forward. We continue with planning, consistency, and cooperation with the Greek State. Africa is a strategic horizon, and the Hellenic-African Chamber will remain present, creating pathways for Greek businesses into new markets and new opportunities.
Ms. Eleni Foti, Director of International Trade Relations at ACCI, stated: “The business mission to Nairobi, with the participation of 15 Greek companies, highlights the growing interest in Kenya as a strategic gateway to East Africa. The bilateral trade balance remained positive for our country in 2024, recording a significant increase, underscoring the clear potential for further growth and cooperation. ACCI continues to support extroversion initiatives, strengthening business connectivity and fostering stable, mutually beneficial partnerships.”

The targeted B2B meetings and institutional contacts created solid foundations for synergies with substantial and long-term impact.
