Strong Greek presence at the international shipbuilding and marine equipment exhibition
Athens, March 31, 2026 | Enterprise Greece organized the largest national participation to date, featuring 15 Greek companies actively engaged in the maritime sector, at the 19th International Maritime Exhibition Asia Pacific Maritime 2026 (APM 2026), held from March 25 to 27, 2026, at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre.
APM is one of the most prominent global exhibitions in Asia for shipbuilding and industrial marine equipment. This year’s edition, with the participation of 18 national pavilions, more than 710 exhibitors, and over 20,000 brands, offered significant opportunities for business networking, knowledge exchange, and the exploration of new partnerships across shipbuilding and marine technology, workboats, offshore applications, and port infrastructure.
The conference sessions and parallel events of APM 2026 focused on the key challenges and prospects of the maritime industry, with particular emphasis on sustainability, innovation, and digitalization. Special attention was given to the transition to green technologies and the adoption of circular economy practices, aiming at the substantial reduction of carbon emissions and the full decarbonization of shipping by 2050. At the same time, new technological solutions and products were presented, addressing the growing demand for sustainable and energy-efficient applications in the sector.
The Greek companies participating in the national pavilion organized by Enterprise Greece had the opportunity to explore the prospects offered by the Southeast Asian market, develop new business partnerships, and engage with key stakeholders and companies from countries such as Denmark, Norway, the Netherlands, Germany, Singapore, South Korea, China, and Indonesia.
At the same time, HEMEXPO and its member companies showcased innovative products and services, highlighting the dynamism and expertise of the Greek marine equipment industry.
Τhe Ambassador of Greece to Singapore, Christodoulos Margaritis, and the Head of the Office for Economic and Commercial Affairs, Minister Counselor for Economic and Commercial Affairs, Vasileios Sitaras visited the Greek pavilion. During their visit, they had the opportunity to discuss with representatives of Greek companies ways to strengthen their presence in the Singaporean market and, more broadly, in the rapidly growing markets of Southeast Asia.
In the framework of the exhibition, the Embassy of Greece in Singapore, in cooperation with Enterprise Greece and HEMEXPO, organized a business networking event on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, aimed at enhancing the professional contacts of Greek companies and fostering further collaboration with stakeholders from the local and international maritime industry.
Referring to the Greek participation, the CEO of Enterprise Greece, Dr. Marinos Giannopoulos, stated: “Greece’s expanded national presence at Asia Pacific Maritime is a key pillar of our strategy to strengthen the export footprint of the Greek maritime industry. Fully aligned with the National Strategic Plan for Extroversion, Enterprise Greece works closely with the private sector and institutional stakeholders, reinforcing the international competitiveness of Greek companies. This year’s strong participation highlighted the technological excellence and high level of expertise of Greek marine equipment firms. Our ongoing commitment is to provide meaningful support to the sector, foster strategic synergies, and position Greece as an international hub for innovation and high-value-added services for global shipping.”
The event was also addressed by the Ambassador of Greece to Singapore, Christodoulos Margaritis, who highlighted both the longstanding importance of Greek-owned ocean-going shipping to Greece’s national identity and the contribution of supplier companies (products and services) to the international orientation of the Greek economy. Among other things, he stated: “Especially at a time when stable and uninterrupted value chains are becoming a prerequisite for prosperity, Greek expertise and innovation in supporting shipping are becoming even more important.”
The Vice President of HEMEXPO, Mr. Stefanos Chartomatzidis, stated: “Asia Pacific Maritime is one of the most important gateways to the Asian market, and the strong Greek presence at this year’s event confirms that our marine equipment industry can compete effectively on the global stage. Greek companies do not simply offer products, but specialized know-how and technological solutions that meet the modern needs of shipping for efficiency, digitalization, and sustainability. Through HEMEXPO’s collective efforts and our cooperation with Enterprise Greece, we continue to strengthen the sector’s extroversion and open new pathways for Greek maritime technology in international markets.”
