Greece on the Radar of International Investors at IHIF 2026

Athens, 2 April 2026 | Enterprise Greece sent a clear message about strengthening Greece’s position on the global hospitality investment map with its dynamic presence at the International Hospitality Investment Forum 2026 (IHIF 2026), one of the most prominent international forums for tourism investment.

With over 2,500 participants, including more than 700 international investors managing assets exceeding $581 billion, this year’s forum confirmed the growing role of hospitality as a key investment category. The theme, “Returns Redefined. Value Reimagined,” highlighted the shift towards more complex, sustainable, and efficient investment models, with the sector increasingly driving broader economic growth.

In this context, Greece emerges as a market with notable potential. According to STR data, Southern Europe shows strong performance, with rising revenue per available room (RevPAR) and significant growth in luxury hospitality, driven by higher average daily rates (ADR). At the same time, investors emphasize that while liquidity is available, the market is becoming more selective, prioritizing high-quality projects with strong management and prospects for sustainable returns.

Enterprise Greece played an active role in the conference, participating in two high-level panels. In the “Investing in destinations: Building partnerships for growth” panel, the company’s CEO, Dr. Marinos Yannopoulos, highlighted the importance of international collaborations for the sustainable development of tourist destinations. The panel also featured Mr. Imad Barrakad, President and CEO of the Moroccan Agency for Tourism Development, and was moderated by Mr. James Chappell, Global Business Director at Horwath HTL.

Enterprise Greece organized the second panel, titled “Redefining Greek hospitality investment: Luxury, sustainability, and strategic partnerships”, bringing together leading representatives from both the international and Greek hospitality markets, including Ms. Diane Daudin Clavaud, Corporate Director of Global Business Development at Nobu Hospitality; Mr. Alexandros Vasilikos, President of HOTREC and President of the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels; Mr. Haris Siganos, CEO of Zeus Hotels and Resorts; Mr. Alex Robinson, Director at STR; and Ms. Anna Cohen, Investment Director at EXTENDAM. The panel was moderated by Ms. Hilda Alissandratos, Director of Investment Attraction – Tourism, Real Estate & Creative Industries at Enterprise Greece.

Additionally, on the sidelines of the forum, Enterprise Greece held a series of targeted B2B meetings with international investors, hotel groups, family offices, developers, and institutional stakeholders, confirming strong interest in new investments in the Greek market, particularly in high-quality and sustainable projects.

Enterprise Greece’s participation in IHIF 2026 is part of its broader efforts to attract foreign direct investment and position Greece as a leading investment destination in Southeastern Europe.

Commenting on the successful presence at the international forum, Enterprise Greece CEO Dr. Marinos Giannopoulos said:
“Our presence at IHIF 2026 confirms that Greece is now firmly on the radar of international hospitality investors. The interest we are observing is substantive and qualitative, focusing on investments that create long-term value. Our country combines strong fundamentals, rising demand, and significant opportunities in areas such as luxury hospitality and sustainable tourism developments. Our goal is to capitalize on this momentum, attracting investments that enhance the competitiveness of Greek tourism and contribute to the sustainable development of the economy.”
