Greece Showcases Strong Presence at AUSA 2025

Deepening Greece–U.S. Strategic Cooperation in Defense, Industry, and Technology

 

Athens, October 23, 2025, | With the participation of institutional partners, senior military officials, and representatives of the business community, Greece’s presence at AUSA 2025 (October 13–15) concluded successfully through the Greek Pavilion, organized under the auspices of Enterprise Greece and the Hellenic Ministry of National Defense, in collaboration with the American Hellenic Chamber of Commerce.

The Greek delegation underscored the steadily expanding strategic partnership between Greece and the United States in the fields of defense, industry, and technological innovation—reaffirming Greece’s position as a trusted ally and a pillar of stability and security in the broader region.

The official opening of the Greek Pavilion on Monday, October 13, marked Greece’s dynamic return to North America’s premier land forces exhibition, highlighting the growing capabilities and global outlook of the Greek defense and technology sectors.

On Tuesday, October 14, a special event titled “Investing in the Future of European Defense: Opportunities and Innovation in Greece” brought together leading industry executives and institutional representatives to discuss investment prospects, industrial synergies, and emerging technologies shaping the future of European defense.

Featured speakers included Santiago Robles Monsalve, Acting Head of Political Section, Counsellor for Security and Defense, Delegation of the European Union to the United States, Tonya Curts, Deputy & Senior Manager, Industrial Development – Missiles and Fire Control, Lockheed Martin, Tiziana Cotugno, VP, Corporate Executive for EU and NATO, L3Harris Technologies, Major General Eleftherios Oikonomou, Director of Branch D, Hellenic Army General Staff; Major General Ioannis Bouras, General Director, General Directorate for Defense Investments and Armaments (GDDIA), and Colonel Nikolaos Meggos, Director of International Relations, Hellenic Center for Defense Innovation (ELKAK).

That evening, the Ambassador of Greece to the United States, Ms. Aikaterini Nassika, hosted a reception at her residence, bringing together representatives from the American defense industry, Greek defense and technology companies, as well as U.S. and Greek government officials. The event served as a valuable forum for networking and strengthening strategic ties between the two nations.

On Wednesday, October 15, Greek exhibitors visited Aurora Flight Sciences, a leading American aerospace company in Washington, D.C., where they explored advanced technologies and discussed potential avenues for collaboration and joint research initiatives.

All these initiatives underscored the shared commitment of Greece and the United States to deepen further bilateral cooperation, foster innovation, and enhance defense industrial partnerships in support of transatlantic security and technological progress.

 

The CEO of Enterprise Greece, Dr. Marinos Giannopoulos, stated: “Promoting Greek exports and expanding the international reach of Greece’s defense and technology sectors are central objectives of our participation in AUSA 2025. Greece’s strong presence at this year’s exhibition reaffirms our nation’s dynamic trajectory as a pillar of innovation, security, and stability on the global stage. It also highlights the technical expertise and capabilities of Greek companies, attracting new partnerships and investment opportunities. Our presence in Washington clearly demonstrates that Greece possesses the vision, talent, and technological know-how to play a leading role in the future of European and transatlantic defense.”

 

The President of the American Hellenic Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Ioannis D. Saracakis, added: “The companies represented at the Greek Pavilion showcased truly innovative solutions, acting as vital links in the international defense supply chain. With technological excellence and entrepreneurial drive, they made a powerful impression at North America’s foremost land forces exhibition. Their participation reflects the readiness of the Greek defense sector to engage in collaborative initiatives that strengthen NATO’s capabilities while promoting transatlantic industrial cooperation. The Greek government has already undertaken significant initiatives to enhance the nation’s defense, technological, and industrial base—steps that are expected to yield long-term positive results in the years ahead. Through these efforts, and in conjunction with its diplomatic initiatives, Greece contributes meaningfully to advancing peace and stability across our wider region.”
