Record Exports and New Agreements for Greek Fruits and Vegetables at Fruit Logistica 2026

Athens, 19 February 2026 | Building on a new historic export record for the sector, Greece once again marked a strong presence at Fruit Logistica, the world’s leading international trade fair for fresh fruits and vegetables, held in Berlin from 4 to 6 February.
The national participation was organized by Enterprise Greece, bringing together at the 333 sq.m. Greek pavilion leading export companies, the Region of Thessaly, and institutional stakeholders of the sector, including the Central Markets and Fisheries Organization S.A.
It is worth highlighting the positive momentum in the fruit and vegetable sector, which continues an upward trajectory: by the end of 2024, Greek exports of fruits and vegetables reached €1.85 billion and 1.789 million tons, setting a record and confirming the steady penetration of Greek products into international markets.
This year’s exhibition also recorded impressive figures, welcoming more than 90,000 trade visitors from 151 countries and over 2,500 exhibitors from 90 countries, turning Berlin into the global hub of fresh trade.
The Greek pavilion was visited by the Deputy Minister of Rural Development and Food, Mr. Christos Kellas, and the Ambassador of Greece to Berlin, Mr. Alexandros Papaioannou, who met with exhibitors and were briefed on both the prospects and challenges facing the sector. On the sidelines of the exhibition, a reception was held at the Greek Embassy in honor of the participating Greek companies, further strengthening networking with international trade partners.
Referring to the successful presence of the Greek delegation under the umbrella of Enterprise Greece, its CEO, Dr. Marinos Giannopoulos, stated: “Greek fruits and vegetables are steadily gaining ground in international markets, thanks to the quality, reliability, and export orientation of our companies. The new export record confirms the sector’s strong momentum, despite pressures stemming from the climate crisis and international uncertainty. Our presence at Fruit Logistica is not merely symbolic. It is a substantial extroversion tool that creates partnership opportunities and opens pathways to high-value markets. As Enterprise Greece, we will continue to actively support Greek exporters with targeted initiatives and high-level services.”
