Private Label Products Drive Export Growth

Athens, June 2, 2026 – International retail giants placed a strong vote of confidence in Greek private label products, sealing the highly successful national participation organized by Enterprise Greece at the PLMA 2026 International Trade Show in Amsterdam (May 19-20).

The Greek national pavilion, spanning 612 square meters, hosted 45 dynamic export-oriented companies—predominantly from the Food and Beverage sector. Greek exhibitors conducted more than 3,000 targeted B2B meetings, presenting products of exceptional quality and high nutritional value to leading international buyers.

Celebrating its 40th anniversary this year as the ultimate global meeting point for the private label sector, PLMA attracted over 32,000 trade visitors and buyers from the world’s largest retail networks, including Carrefour, Tesco, Aldi, Lidl, Rewe, Ahold Delhaize, Edeka, Migros, Colruyt, Jumbo, and Albert Heijn. Over the two-day event, global retail executives networked with 3,300 exhibitors representing 70 countries.

The private label category is rapidly evolving into a powerful asset for the Greek trade balance. A prime example is the domestic peach canning industry, which generates hundreds of millions of euros in global export revenues while actively sustaining thousands of jobs across both the processing sector and primary agricultural production.

The Greek delegation was honored by the presence of the Ambassador of Greece to the Hague, Her Excellency Katerina Gini, who engaged with exhibitors and underscored the critical importance of diplomatic support in boosting entrepreneurship.

Statement by the CEO of Enterprise Greece, Dr. Marinos Giannopoulos: “Private label products are no longer just a global consumer trend; they represent a strategic corridor for the dynamic penetration of Greece’s flagship agricultural products into international markets. Our olive oil, olives, feta cheese, and processed fruits consistently win over global consumers day by day. Enterprise Greece has proudly supported the national delegation at PLMA for two decades. The continuous, qualitative growth in the number of exhibitors perfectly reflects the historic highs currently recorded by our food and beverage exports. We move forward dynamically, opening doors to the world’s largest retail chains and strengthening the global footprint of Greek entrepreneurship.”
