between Enterprise Greece and the Hellenic–ASEAN Business Council

Athens, 24 September 2025 | Enterprise Greece and the Hellenic–ASEAN Business Council (HABC) signed on Tuesday, 23 September, a Memorandum of Cooperation, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening the economic and trade ties between Greece and ASEAN.

 

On behalf of Enterprise Greece, the Memorandum was signed by the Secretary General for International Economic Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Chairman of Enterprise Greece, Mr. Dimitrios Skalkos, while on behalf of HABC it was signed by the President, Mr. Nikolaos Stassinopoulos. Also present at the ceremony was the Chief Executive Officer of Enterprise Greece, Dr. Marinos Giannopoulos.

 

Mr. Skalkos expressed his satisfaction with the progress of Greece’s bilateral economic relations with the member countries of HABC, emphasizing that the Memorandum will make a substantial contribution to their further strengthening.

 

ASEAN is one of the world’s most dynamically developing markets, with a population of over 670 million and a GDP exceeding USD 4 trillion. It offers significant opportunities for Greek export-oriented companies, particularly in the sectors of agri-food products (olive oil, wine, fruit), pharmaceuticals, construction materials, shipping and logistics, information and communication technologies, as well as tourism.

 

The signing of the Memorandum took place in the presence of H.E. Dr. Bebeb A.K.N. Djundjunan, Ambassador of Indonesia (Chairing country of the ASEAN Committee in Athens), H.E. Mrs. Pham Thi Thu Huong, Ambassador of Vietnam, H.E. Mr. Sathana Kashemsanta Na Ayudhya, Ambassador of Thailand, and H.E. Mr. Giovanni E. Palec, Ambassador of the Philippines.
