MWC Barcelona: For the 12th consecutive year, Greece is making a dynamic presence at the largest global digital technology event

Athens, February 24, 2025 | The organization of the Greek delegation for the international conference and exhibition MWC Barcelona 2025 is nearing completion. The event will take place from March 3 to 6, 2025, at the Fira de Barcelona Exhibition Center, specifically at the Gran Via venue. This year, more than 37 innovative companies will participate, making it the most prominent presence Greece has had at MWC Barcelona in recent years.

The Greek delegation is organized by the Ministry of Digital Governance, Enterprise Greece, and the Greek Association of Innovative Applications Enterprises (SEKEE). Greece has participated in a national pavilion at MWC Barcelona for the 12th consecutive year, which is one of the most important global events in the digital technology market. It attracts the attention of the entire technology, telecommunications, and IT sectors every year, acting as a meeting point for top executives and drawing visitors from all business sectors interested in utilizing digital technologies.

As stated by the Minister of Digital Governance, Dimitris Papastergiou, during the presentation of the Greek delegation, “The Greek innovation ecosystem is in a phase of development, and this progress must be accompanied by appropriate outward-facing efforts. We actively participate in the MWC Barcelona 2025 exhibition, based on our continually upgraded role in critical technological sectors such as space. This year, moreover, is a pivotal year for Greece’s space projects, such as the ‘National Small Satellites Program,’ for which significant work has been done in the past period. Additionally, now, there is a need across Europe for businesses to move more organized and coordinated to develop immediate solutions. The exhibition is an excellent opportunity in this direction. I would like to thank SEKEE and Enterprise Greece for their collaboration, as they share our vision for a continuously evolving Greece with technology as its core and tool.”

The goal of this year’s delegation is to highlight the innovation produced by Greek businesses operating in the broader field of digital technologies and to strengthen the international networking of the digital ecosystem. “As part of our preparation, we have taken several actions to further enhance the efforts being made. Since the beginning of the year, specialized workshops and training sessions have been held to better prepare the participating companies and organizations and to leverage the networking opportunities at MWC Barcelona. Furthermore, we have aimed to create significant synergies with the innovation ecosystems of other countries, which is expected to provide considerable benefits in terms of networking for the participating companies,” said SEKEE President, Manos Makromallis. “The significant successes of previous delegations serve as our guide for this year, with the goal of making Greece’s presence especially noticeable at one of the largest global events for digital technology,” added Mr. Makromallis.

At MWC Barcelona 2025, more than 110,000 top executives from the global digital technology market are expected, and the number of exhibitors exceeds 2,400. It is noted that the Greek pavilion covers over 150 square meters, making it the largest Greece has ever had at MWC Barcelona.

In last year’s delegation, the number of meetings reached nearly 450, with new contacts approaching 500. Additionally, several companies were able to achieve significant successes in terms of collaboration and engaging with investors.

Dr. Marinos Giannopoulos, CEO of Enterprise Greece, stated, “This year, Greece participates in MWC stronger than ever. Under the auspices of Enterprise Greece, over 37 pioneering Greek tech companies—from innovative startups to established industry leaders—are expected to leave their mark. With our digital sector growing at an annual rate of 8%, the Greek delegation reflects the ever-accelerating momentum of the country in technology, connectivity, and AI-based solutions. Thus, Greece is not just participating—it is shaping tomorrow’s discussions.”

During the Greek delegation’s presence at MWC Barcelona, meetings with members of other national delegations have been scheduled. The Greek pavilion will feature designated spaces for meetings with executives from international companies, with a particular emphasis placed this year on promotion, publicity, and social media presence through cooperation with the AD & PR Lab of Panteion University of Athens. A dedicated website has been created at https://mwc25.sekee.gr/ containing all information about the Greek delegation and the participating companies, which for the first time includes videos introducing the companies and organizations involved.
