Athens, 04 December 2024 l In the strategically important for Greek exports U.S.A. market, Enterprise Greece organized for the first time the national participation in the PLMA Chicago 2024 International Private Label Exhibition, held between November 18 and 19, 2024 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Chicago.
PLMA Chicago, the largest and most important private label retailer in the Americas, brings together retailers and manufacturers, helping them find new products, create new contacts, and discover new ideas. In total, more than 1,800 companies attended the exhibition from 60 countries.
In the 1st participation organized and supported by Enterprise Greece, the national pavilion hosted 9 dynamic export companies of the food industry, which presented excellent Greek food products and held dozens of b2b meetings.
The Consul of Greece in Chicago, Mr. Emmanuel Koumbarakis, and the Head of the Commercial Office of Greece in Chicago, Mrs. Anastasia Zografou (General Counsel of the Economic and Financial Services B’), visited the pavilion and had the opportunity to talk with the Greek exhibitors.
It is noted that the category of private label products is essential for Greek exports given that key sectors such as canning, contribute hundreds of millions of euros from exports around the world and at the same time support thousands of jobs in processing and the primary agricultural sector. The U.S. market, with sales in the private label category reaching $230 billion in 2023, is an attractive target for Greek export companies.
