Advisory Meeting for Investments

Enterprise Greece participated in the advisory group meeting of the EU-OECD Programme on Promoting Investment in the Mediterranean, which took place at the OECD offices in Paris on March 20, 2018. The purpose of the meeting was assessment of last year’s actions and action planning for the coming year. Representatives of the European Commission, the OECD, the partner countries of the program (Egypt, Algeria, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Tunisia) and Business France attended.

This initiative of the European Commission and the OECD aims to enhance the quality and quantity of investment in the Mediterranean region and the MENA countries. It includes, in cooperation with governments and institutions, a series of regional and national actions focused on creating strong coherent investment policies and strategies. The goal of the program is to increase investment in the region by modernizing investment policies, adopting best practices, promoting networking between Euro-Mediterranean investment promotion agencies, and strengthening reforms and public-private partnerships.

The agenda of the advisory group meeting included a comprehensive discussion of the Regional Seminar on Institutional Reforms of Investment Promotion Agencies held in Rabat, Morocco, 30-31 January 2018. Representatives from partner countries (Egypt, Algeria, Greece, Jordan, Morocco, Palestine and Tunisia) participated in this regional seminar. Representatives from several other European countries were also invited to discuss, as a process of peer learning, the institutional reforms in their investment agencies and opportunities for cooperation with equivalent European bodies.

At both the regional seminar in Rabat and the Moroccan National Laboratory, “Transformation of the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development (AMDIE): Good Practices and International Perspectives,” the Enterprise Greece Directorate of International Relations, Institutional Networking and Communication participated in the panels, as part of its international networking and the two-way exchange of know-how, experience and best practices as reflected in the strategic goals of Enterprise Greece.
