An important Greek presence in SEA ASIA 2023

Athens, May 4, 2023 | The Greek Company of Investments and Foreign Trade (Enterprise Greece), in cooperation with the Association of Hellenic Marine Equipment Manufacturers and Exports (HEMEXPO), organized for the 3rd time the national participation in the 9th International Maritime Fair SEA ASIA 2023, one of the largest International Fairs in shipbuilding and industrial marine equipment, held on April 25-27, 2023 at the Marina Bay Sands Exhibition Venue in Singapore.

In this year’s event, with the theme “Ambition Meets Action: Marketplace – Innovation – Leadership”, 400 companies from 80 countries participated, in an exhibition area of 8,500 sq. m., and the commercial visitors of the sector exceeded the number of 20,000.

Greece had an impressive presence, with the national kiosk in an advantageous location in the venue, with the participation of important Greek companies. With the slogan “Smart Ship Solutions. Greek marine equipment”, Enterprise Greece and the sector Associations joined forces aiming to the implementation of a series of actions to promote the Greek maritime equipment and attract investment funds to dynamic and extroverted Greek companies of the sector.

All participants could meet and create partnerships with new customers, to be included in the market of SE Asia and to come in touch with important bodies from the missions of China, Korea, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Norway, Panama and Singapore.

The fair opening was made by the Deputy Minister of Finance and Transportation of Singapore, Mr. Chee Hong Tat.

The national kiosk was visited by the Honorary Guest Mr. Baey Yam Ken, Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Transport, Singapore and Greece’s Ambassador in Singapore, Mr. Georgios Dogoritis.

Referring to the successful national mission, Executive Consultant and Executive Director of the Enterprise Greece BoD, Mrs. Betty Alexandropoulou, stated: “Sea Asia, held for the first time with physical presence after 2019, is one of the most important events of the maritime sector globally. It is an exceptional platform for promoting Greek companies active in industrial maritime equipment. We are very glad to support the sector companies, which

prove to be particularly extroverted, as approximately 42% of their sales are completed in the international market. Further promotion and support of the sector’s products and services, along with attracting investments, are the strategic goals of Enterprise Greece”.

The President of HEMEXPO, Mrs. Eleni Polychronopoulou mentioned: “It is very important for us the fact that the SEA ASIA fair took place once more, after interrupted in 2019 due to the pandemic. With the support of Enterprise Greece we had the opportunity to personally meet once more with top executives of the Asian maritime sector. The Greek kiosk, which hosted six Greek companies, was visited by many maritime companies expressing particular interest in Greek products. I believe that we will soon obtain new agreements and our commercial relationships will continue even more dynamically”.
