BATIMAT 2024: Enterprise Greece with 8 Greek companies at the international exhibition for the construction industry

Athens, 25 October 2024 | Enterprise Greece, in the context of its strategy to boost Greek exports, once again supported the participation of Greek businesses in the international exhibition Batimat, one of the largest international exhibitions in the construction industry, which takes place every two years in Paris and this year was held from September 30 to October 3 at the exhibition center “Porte de Versailles”.

The Greek delegation was attended by 8 leading companies in the construction industry, which stood out for presenting innovative solutions in building materials, with particular emphasis on sustainable development. At the same time, they were able to get in contact with representatives and potential buyers from all over the world and French-speaking African countries such as Tunisia and Algeria, which in recent years have been of ever-increasing export interest to Greek businesses. The large number of visitors observed in Greek stands highlighted the dynamics of Greek companies and gave the incentive for even greater participation by our country in the next event.

The Head of the Economic and Financial Services Office of the Greek Embassy in Paris, Mr. Nikolaos Belias, Gen. Mr. Marios Mathioudakis, Consultant of OEY A’, who, together with the representative of Enterprise Greece, had the opportunity visit the Greek Pavilion and meet and talk with representatives of all Greek companies.

It is also worth mentioning that the exhibition also occupied new exhibition halls at the Palais des Expo Versailles, to respond to the increased needs caused mainly by the arrival of the parallel exhibition EQUIPBAIE-METALEXPO which was added next to the 3 historical exhibition venues BATIMAT, IDÉOBAIN, INTERCLIMA. BATIMAT hosted 2,022 exhibitors, showing an increase of 15% compared to the previous event, with equal participation of exhibitors from France and around the world. In the total of 4 days that the event lasted at the parallel exhibitions BATIMAT, IDÉOBAIN, INTERCLIMA, and EQUIPBAIE/METALEXPO, the number of participants reached 135,000, much higher than in previous editions.

The topics discussed during Batimat mainly concerned adaptation, innovation, regions as well as women & men in the industry and were analyzed by the 700 participants/speakers through a rich program of speeches and 350 lectures, on 14 different stages. Emphasis was placed on renovation with a Renotalks program and the arrival of RENODAYS at BATIMAT and INTERCLIMA.

As an important and anticipated event for exhibitors and visitors, the Innovation Awards recorded 228 nominations (+36% compared to 2022), during this event. Another important activity hosted as part of BATIMAT was Climate Sense, a unique immersion experience designed by Christian Clot, explorer-researcher, Founder, and CEO of the Human Adaptation Institute, designed to simulate a space and life situations that allow understanding the realities of life at +50°C. Ministers, Presidents of professional organizations, and Visitors to the exhibition spent 30 minutes in these conditions and were able to practically understand the effects of extreme climate change on the body and human health, social organizations, and the planet.
