BIG 5 SAUDI 2023 – Enterprise Greece supports the Greek participation in the most important international exhibition of the building materials and services industry

Athens, 06 March 2023 | Enterprise Greece supported the national pavilion at the “BIG 5 SAUDI” international construction materials exhibition, which took place in Riyadh from February 18 to 21, 2023. Twenty (20) companies participated in the national pavillion, while seven (7) more Greek companies participated in individual private separate stands, with their regional representatives.
Big 5 Saudi is the largest exhibition in the construction sector in Saudi Arabia and the wider region. The exhibition which was held at the new Riyadh Front Exhibition & Conference Center (RFECC), with a total area of 40,000 sq.m., with participation of 850 companies from 40 countries. The products exhibited originated from the construction and services sector, such as building materials, electrical equipment, marble & marble processing materials, cables aluminum products, paints-varnishes-insulators, electrical machinery, water technology & environment, residential and commercial air conditioning technology, software for construction companies, cleaning and maintenance machinery, metallurgy and glass products, bathrooms, wood products etc.
The major projects announced by the government of Saudi Arabia to be realized 2030 and the very good relations with Greece, contribute to the increasing participation of Greek companies from the field of construction materials and services and the establishement of important agreements during the exhibition.
The Ambassador of Greece in Riyadh, Mr Alexis Konstantopoulos, attended the opening of the exhibition, welcomed the Deputy Minister of Energy and Industry of Saudi Arabia to the Greek stand, H.E. Eng. Osama bin Abdulaziz Al-Zamil, and met with representatives of Greek companies.
The Executive Director and Member of the BoD of Enterprise Greece, Ms Betty Alexandropoulou, stated: “Greece’s relations with Saudi Arabia are at the best terms in the recent years. Greek construction companies produce highly innovative products and services and can claim a share in this growing and promising market, with numerous infrastructure projects under construction. Acknowledging the strategic importance of this market, Enterprise Greece continues to provide the support required by strengthening the extroversion of Greek companies in the construction materials sector towards Saudi Arabia and improving the trade relations of the two countries for mutual benefit”.
Mr Alexis Konstantopoulos, Ambassador of Greece to Saudi Arabia, stated: “I visited the BIG 5 Saudi exhibition, following the official opening by the Deputy Minister of Industry and Natural Resources, H.E. Osama bin Abdulaziz al-Zamil, and I had the opportunity to meet and to talk to all Greek exhibitors, representing various sectors. I realised the high level not only of their products but also of the services they offer as well as the interest of the visitors to the exhibition. I wish that the participating Greek companies will achieve their goals and successfully enter the local market. The Embassy is on their side and will try to respond to the aspirations of Greek firms. Saudi Arabia is a rapidly growing economy, a promising market and the physical presence of Greek companies is extremely important. The excellent level of our bilateral relations, along with the high level of expertise of Greek firms and their good reputation, allows us to be particularly optimistic about the future of our trade relations”.
