Dynamic Greek presence at BATIMAT 2022

Dynamic Greek presence at BATIMAT 2022,
the most influential international exhibition for the construction & building materials sector
Athens, 7 October 2022 | After a two-year absence due to the pandemic, BATIMAT 2022, the largest international trade fair for construction and building materials, returned in full force. Eleven Greek companies participated in the national pavilion, organized by Enterprise Greece.
BATIMAT 2022 was held from 3 to 6 October in Paris, showcasing a wide range of products, equipment and services, and drawing a large number of French and international professionals from the construction industry.
Eleven prominent Greek exporters of building materials participated, presenting their products and networking with international buyers, designers and construction firms. At the Greek pavilion, visitors were introduced to Greek products ranging from insulation materials and paints, to marble products, solar heating systems, and integrated aluminum systems, with innovative, new products and exciting architectural applications.
Of particular importance to the Greek exhibitors was the opportunity to network at BATIMAT 2022 with representatives from the French-speaking countries of Africa, which in recent years have shown a substantially increasing interest in Greek building materials.
The participating companies were: Thrakon, Isomat, Elval, Dimas, Alchimica, Metal Skin, Aluminco, Iktinos Hellas, Kamaridis Globalwire Group, Psofakis, and Bauer.
The Greek Ambassador to Paris, Dimitrios Zevelakis, accompanied by the Head of the Commercial Affairs Office in Paris, Nikolaos Belias, and Counselor Marios Mathioudakis, visited the Greek pavilion and had the opportunity to network with representatives of the Greek companies present.
Executive Director and Member of the BoD of Enterprise Greece, Betty Alexandropoulou, emphasized that the building materials sector represents a significant part of the country’s economy and has strong growth prospects. She noted: “The Greek building materials sector is one of our leading export sectors: companies in the sector are active in more than 30 countries globally, from Europe and the booming markets of the Middle East, to the emerging markets of Africa and South Asia.”
In his remarks, Ambassador Zevelakis stated: “From the meetings we held with the representatives of the companies, it is clear that the Greek businesses participating are not only aiming to increase their share of the French market, but aim to expand their activities in the French-speaking countries of Africa and other regions. The Greek products are highly competitive and reflect the improved technological level of Greek companies, especially in sectors where we have significant competitive advantages, such as aluminum, marble, insulating materials, and solar water heaters.”
