Dynamic Greek Presence at International Exhibitions of Clothing, Accessories, and Decoration

Athens, February 7, 2024 | Sixty-seven (67) companies participated in the national pavilions organized by the Hellenic Investment and Foreign Trade Company (Enterprise Greece) at the international exhibitions of clothing, accessories, and jewelry (WHO’S NEXT – BIJORHCA), as well as home and interior decoration (MAISON ET OBJET), which took place in Paris between January 18 and 22.

The exceptional participation of Greek enterprises during the major commercial events held in Paris this winter created a favorable picture of our nation and raised hopes for the future. Tourists and consumers are becoming more and more interested in Greek goods and services.

More specifically, 32 Greek companies from the creative sectors of decoration and objects participated in MAISON ET OBJET PARIS, held from January 18 to 22, 2024, at the Paris Nord Villepinte exhibition space. During the 5-day exhibition, Greek participants had the opportunity to expand their clientele through planned B2B meetings and general networking activities. This year’s event saw a 9% increase in participation compared to the corresponding event in January 2023, reaching a total of 2516 participating companies, with 30% of them participating for the first time.

Simultaneously, on January 20, the WHO’S NEXT – BIJORHCA international clothing, accessory, and jewellery exhibitions began at the Porte de Versailles exhibition centre. The winter edition of Who’s Next – BIJORHCA, the largest international fashion and accessories trade fair in Paris, hosted more than 1550 exhibitors. With the support of Enterprise Greece, 35 Greek businesses in the fashion, jewellery, and underwear sectors participated, ranking Greece fourth among the 40 countries that participated through their brands in the events. For the first time this year, the Salon international de la Lingerie sector also functioned, with the participation of 250 companies.

The Ambassador of Greece in Paris, Mr. Dimitris Zevelakis, visited the Greek pavilions accompanied by the Advisor for Economic and Commercial Affairs (OEY) A’ of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Mario Mathioudakis, and together they had the opportunity to meet and converse with Greek businessmen.

After completing his visit to WHO’S NEXT – BIJORHCA, Mr. Zevelakis stated, “During my visit to the three international exhibitions—’Who’s Next,’ ‘BIJORHCA,’ and ‘Salon International de la Lingerie’—organized in Paris from January 20 to 22, 2024, I had the opportunity to talk with representatives of a total of 35 participating Greek companies, verifying the high level of their products and their strong interest in operating or intensifying their presence in the internationally prestigious French market. The ever-increasing number of Greek companies participating in the above exhibitions demonstrates the special dynamics that have developed and created extremely auspicious prospects for the future. Enterprise Greece and its executives, who oversaw supporting the Greek companies in the exhibitions, contributed decisively to the success of the Greek participation, demonstrating impeccable professionalism. It is important to maintain the presence of numerous Greek companies in the upcoming relevant exhibitions as well, given that stable partnerships are a necessary condition for building corporate credibility. In addition, the holding of the Olympic and Paralympic games in Paris in the period July-September 2024 is estimated to create multiple business opportunities. The Embassy of Paris and the O.E.Y. Office are at the disposal of interested Greek companies, supporting their export efforts and facilitating their promotional actions in the French market.”
