Enterprise Greece and the Hellenic Association of Space Industry (HASI), support the rapidly expanding space technology sector

Athens, 22 November 2023 | Enterprise Greece in collaboration with the Hellenic Association of Space Industry (HASI), organized the Greek participation in the International Space Technology Exhibition “SPACE TECH EXPO EUROPE” 2023 in Bremen, Germany, from November 14 to 16, 2023. It is the most significant event on the space industry’s calendar, since it serves as a primary networking platform for forming new business ties and alliances.
The expo had more than ten national pavilions and more than 650 firms from 40 countries, with over 10,000 visitors. The organizers estimated that around 30,000 business meetings took place. Simultaneously, conferences, seminars, and presentations were held with the involvement of over 150 notable speakers from the area, as well as networking events at the country pavilions.
Supporting this industry is a strategic focus for Enterprise Greece, since it has dynamic and spectacular growth despite its modest size. The industry consists of exceptionally skilled scientists and STEM [Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics] graduates. Greece’s participation in this Exhibition marks the country’s third concerted and structured endeavor to enter the worldwide market. The National Participation, comprised of ten dynamic companies in the sector, held over 600 business meetings with potential customers, international organizations and associations, and country representatives, all of which are expected to result in synergies and the signing of business agreements.
Greek enterprises in the field, aiming for the global market, promote the image and “brand” of Greek space technology and innovation internationally as associated with quality, safety, speed, and respect for People and the Environment in collaboration with Enterprise Greece and EVIDITE.
Mrs. Betty Alexandropoulou, Executive Director and member of the Board of Enterprise Greece, commented, “Enterprise Greece continues to promote innovative products and services developed in our country internationally. Space technology, manned by highly skilled scientific experts, provides research work with many applications in citizens’ daily lives. The industry exports high-value goods and services, boosting extroversion and contributing to the improvement of the national economy. Enterprise Greece will continue to assist the industry’s efforts to increase extroversion, emphasizing the phrase “SPACE TECHNOLOGY MADE IN GREECE.”
Mr. Athanasios Potsis, President of the Hellenic Association of Space Industry (HASI), stated, “The Greek space ecosystem is consolidating its position in the European space market. The participation of Greek firms in the Space Tech Expo Europe exposition in Bremen was marked by a significant rise in participation, with successful presentations of goods and services in the sphere of space. The Greek ecosystem was presented in a structured manner for the first time, with representatives from startups (ESA Bic), business, universities (Si-Cluster), and Enterprise Greece. Innovative ideas and products were presented in the fields of space (upstream) and applications (midstream & downstream), demonstrating that Greece has reached the level of technical maturity required to participate on equal terms in major European space programs (ESA & EUSPA)”.
