Enterprise Greece at the R&R international investment conference

Athens, 20 October 2023 | Enterprise Greece participated in the Resort & Residential Hospitality Forum (R&R) in Lisbon, Portugal, from October 9 to 11, 2023. The R&R conference, organized by Questex Hospitality as part of a series of investment forums, focuses on themes such as real estate investments and the development and operation of complex tourist resorts.
R&R stands out as the only investment conference that provides a platform for networking and marketing significant tourist projects to a global audience of hotel chain owners, investors, manufacturers, and managers. This year’s conference brought together representatives from more than 20 countries, with over 400 attendees, including 70 investors and 50 senior executives (C-level). They had the opportunity to participate in a comprehensive schedule of lectures and networking events.
Speakers at the conference highlighted the tremendous growth potential for new projects or acquisitions in the Mediterranean region, addressing the owners and executives of hotel chains and investment funds from around the world.
During the R&R event, Enterprise Greece successfully organized a breakfast roundtable, which brought together Greek hotel enterprises, international organizations, and real estate service companies. The focus was on presenting investment prospects in Greece’s hospitality and leisure sector, which is situated in the heart of traditional leisure markets. Many Greek destinations continue to rank among the most popular global tourist destinations, underscoring their enduring investment potential.
The overall consensus from the discussions is that Greece represents an emerging market for investments in the hospitality sector, especially in the luxury tourism segment, where the percentage of high-standard brands remains relatively low compared to other countries. This indicates significant opportunities for growth. Additionally, there is a need for further investments and enhancements in mid-range and budget accommodations, as they cater to a substantial portion of international travelers.
Mr. Marinos Yannopoulos, CEO of Enterprise Greece, noted that, “Greece possesses unique attributes, including its climate, nature, history, culture, and gastronomy, which collectively create a highly competitive tourism product on a global scale. In fact, it was ranked 7th in ForwardKeys’ list of the 10 countries with the highest tourism growth in 2023. Our country undoubtedly offers ample room for investment across various subsectors of the Greek tourism market, including luxury resorts, complex tourist facilities, marinas, golf, and more. As part of its significant efforts, Enterprise Greece is committed to presenting the country’s investment opportunities in the hospitality and real estate sectors to the international community.”
