Enterprise Greece, Athens Chamber of Commerce & Industry sign MOU for attracting investment and promoting exports
Athens, December 20, 2022 | Enterprise Greece and the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding to work together in attracting investments to Greece and promoting Greek exports.
The MOU was signed by Ioannis Smyrlis, General Secretary for International Economic Affairs & Openness and Chairman of Enterprise Greece, and Sophia Kounenaki-Efraimoglou, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ACCI.
The MOU specifically highlights joint activities relating to:
• Promoting Greece in the international market
• Strengthening the internationalization of small and medium-sized enterprises, with the aim of increasing exports and creating new jobs
• Promoting entrepreneurship and innovation in Greece
• Promoting the products and services offered by ACCI
• Developing, implementing and promoting research and special studies
• Participating in national and European co-financed programs
In remarks at the signing of the MOU, Mr. Smyrlis said: “The signing of today’s MoU confirms our commitment to develop fruitful partnerships with all the country’s business entities to support Greek exporting enterprises and attract investment. The cooperation with ACCI is directly related to the mission of Enterprise Greece and the economic diplomacy goals set by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to strengthen domestic business activity in all target markets. This MoU marks the beginning of our strategic cooperation for the benefit of Greek entrepreneurship and to strengthen the sustainable development of our country.”
Separately, Mrs. Kounenaki-Efraimoglou stated: “Modern, competitive, extroverted entrepreneurship can, and must be, a driving force in accelerating the development of the Greek economy in the coming years. It is the vehicle for creating new jobs and opportunities. At the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry our top priority is the promotion of extroversion, which we undertake through targeted actions and partnerships. We cooperate effectively and constructively with the State’s extroversion agencies: to share our know-how and experience, to highlight needs, to jointly exploit new opportunities. The signing of today’s memorandum is another step in this direction. A step that serves our common purpose, creating benefits for local businesses, for the national economy.”
