Enterprise Greece organized the national participation
Athens, 7 April 2022 | The International Exhibition of Constructing Materials “BIG 5 SAUDI”, which is considered one of the most important exhibitions in the field of construction in Saudi Arabia and the wider region, was organized in Riyadh from 28 to 31 March 2022. Enterprise Greece organized this year the national participation, which consisted of 12 Greek enterprises.
Greece’s participation in the exhibition with important enterprises in the field of construction materials, is a targeted action based upon the forthcoming projects planned in Saudi Arabia but also upon strengthening the existing, excellent relations between Greece and Saudi Arabia.
The “ BIG 5 SAUDI” brings together the largest variety of products and services in the field of construction, as proven by the participation of 400 enterprises from 25 countries, that showcased their products such as building materials, electrical equipment, air conditioning systems, airport equipment , marble & marble processing materials, cables, aluminum products, paints – varnishes – insulation, electrical machinery, water & environment technology, air conditioning technology for homes and businesses, software for construction companies, cleaning and maintenance machinery, metallurgy and glass products, bathrooms, wood products etc. in an area of 14,000 sq.m
The exhibition was organized for 12th consecutive year, and for the first time it took place in the capital city of Riyadh, at the Riyadh International Convention & Exhibition Center (RICEC), which is considered the political and economic center of Saudi Arabia.
Ms. Betty Alexandropoulou, Executive Director and Member of the Board of Enterprise Greece stated: “Saudi Arabia is a country of strategic importance for promoting exports and strenghtening bilateral relations between our two countries. Enterprise Greece, recognizing the development of important construction projects that will occur in the forthcoming years in Saudi Arabia, considers of vital importance to strengthen the extroversion of Greek construction enterprises in the region and especially in the sector of construction materials which is a dynamic industry for our country.»
The Ambassador of Hellenic Republic in Riyadh, Mr. Alexis Konstantopoulos, attended a special event organized in the framework of the opening of the exhibition, in the presence of the Deputy Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources of Saudi Arabia. H.E., Eng. Osama bin Abdulaziz Al-Zamil, and then visited the Greek pavilion, where he had the opportunity to talk to representatives of Greek enterprises.
Mr. Konstantopoulos made the following statement: “It is an honor and a special pleasure that our country is worthily represented with numerous and prominent enterprises at the Big 5 Saudi exhibition in Riyadh, the capital of the largest country in the Arabian Peninsula.
It is the largest exhibition in Saudi Arabia in terms of the construction industry, which offers excellent opportunities for Greek enterprises in the industry, since impressive and pioneering public and private infrastructure projects are evolving. I wish good luck to all 12 Greek participating enterprises representing Greece, the Greek know-how and the excellent quality of construction materials. Our Embassy remains, at all times, available to all Greek enterprises interested in the market of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia”.
