Enterprise Greece Signs Cooperation Agreement with China Trade Promotion Council

Greek state trade and investment promotion agency, Enterprise Greece, has signed a cooperation agreement with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) to deepen collaboration between the two agencies.
The memorandum was signed on 12 September 2017, during a special ceremony at the Enterprise Greece offices in Athens. Signing on behalf of the two agencies were Elias Athanasiou, CEO of Enterprise Greece, and CCPIT Vice President Dr. Zhang Wei.
Building on an already existing relationship, the memorandum foresees the two agencies undertaking joint activities to attract investment, boost exports and create new job opportunities. It also envisions new initiatives to promote friendship and understanding between the peoples and businesses of Greece and China.
Trade relations between Greece and China have grown steadily over the past several years. Reflecting those ties, China was the honored country at this year’s Thessaloniki International Fair, held in the northern Greek city Sept. 9-17 (http://tif.helexpo.gr/en). Some 167 Chinese companies took part in the fair, including major companies like China Cosco Shipping Corporation, Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd and Zhongxing Telecommunication Equipment Corporation (ZTE).
Established in May 1952, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade comprises VIPS, enterprises and organizations representing the economic and trade sectors in China. It is the most important and the largest institution for the promotion of foreign trade in China.
