Enterprise Greece Vice Presidency of ETPOA

Athens, 31 October 2018| Enterprise Greece, the state investment and trade promotion agency, has been elected to the vice presidency of the newly-formed European Trade Promotion Organization Association (ETPOA AISBL), which was founded today in Brussels by 13 national trade promotion agencies from across Europe.
In addition to its vice presidency of the new organization, Enterprise Greece will also assume the role of Head of Secretariat, with responsibility for the overall management of its operational issues.
The objectives of ETPOA AISBL are:
- To promote and represent TPOs in Europe at the institutional level with regard to the European Commission and its relevant departments (Directorate-General for the Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs)
- To engage in dialogue and policy debate at the European Union level and with other similar associations outside Europe
- Organize working group meetings in line with the founding objectives of the association and which are in the interest of all members
- Develop closer cooperation between TPOs through exchange of know-how and best practices
- Participate in public consultations with the European Union
The Association will operate as a non-profit entity. Its founding members are: AWEX of the French Community of Belgium, Brussels Invest & Export of the Region of Brussels, BSMEPA of Bulgaria, Business France of France, Enterprise Greece of Greece, Enterprise Lithuania of Lithuania, FIT of the Flemish Community of Belgium, ICEX of Spain, MNKH Promotion Ltd of Hungary, AICEP Portugal Global of Portugal, Trade Malta of Malta, Wallonia Be of the Wallonian Community of Belgium and the Trade Office of the Ministry of Energy, Trade, Industry and Tourism of Cyprus.
The long-term hope of ETPOA AISBL is to eventually represent all TPOs from Europe.
The first general assembly of the Association is scheduled for 29 November 2018 in Brussels. Concurrently, the Association will participate in a meeting with the European Commission’s Directorate-General for the Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs on 30 November 2018.
