Enterprise Greece was present at the International Conference “Resort & Residential Hospitality Forum”

The Resort & Residential Hospitality Forum (R&R), took place on October 25-27, 2021, in Algarve, Portugal, with the successful presence of Enterprise Greece.


Formerly known as the Mediterranean Resort & Hotel Real Estate Forum (MR&H), the R&R is Europe’s only resort-focused investment conference, organized by Questex as part of the International Hotel Investment Forum (IHIF) series held in Europe, Asia, and the USA. R&R is dedicated to real estate investments – with an emphasis on residential and hospitality – but also on the development and operation of integrated tourist resorts in the Mediterranean region.

This year’s conference was attended by over 250 senior business executives from 20 countries, including international investors (30% of participants), developers, hoteliers, leading global companies and professionals in the field, who had the opportunity to witness the strength of the R&R conference program and contributions from respected and influential leaders that created an informative, innovative, and educational experience for all who attended. The top executives of international hotel chains and funds, shared their views and had the opportunity to analyze in depth the excellent growth prospects that exist in the Mediterranean.

Enterprise Greece successfully hosted a roundtable dedicated to Greece, attended by investors, investment fund executives and representatives of international hotel chains who showed a keen interest in investment opportunities in our country. The roundtable was co-hosted by Thomas Emanuel of STR, Georgios Kaloutsakis of Hersonissos Group Hotels and Dimitris Tryfon of Charamida Investments.

During the Conference, executives from Enterprise Greece, held 15 one-on-one meetings with counterparts from Spain, Russia, the USA, the United Kingdom, where they had the opportunity to present the investment opportunities Greece offers today in the sectors of tourism and real estate. They also presented the matchmaking services Enterprise Greece offers between foreign and Greek enterprises.

The Associate Director of Investment Promotion and Facilitation of Enterprise Greece, Ms. Hilda Alisandratou, focused on the developing dynamics as well as the great investment opportunities in the field of tourism, a vital sector of the Greek economy. Ms. Alisandratou also referred to the large number of projects that have been implemented or are expected to be launched, as well as the significant infrastructure projects that will contribute to the overall upscale of the country as an investment destination. Ms. Alisandratou, made special reference to the favorable investment and tax framework that is being developed in the form of incentives aiming to attract further investment projects.

During the roundtable, the co-hosts and attendees pointed out the dynamics of the tourism industry in the post-covid era, referring to benchmarking comparative data, while stressing the need to attract high-income tourism. They also indicated the opportunities that exist for further cooperation between Greek and foreign leading players, recognizing the great mobility of investments in the tourism sector.
