FRUITLOGISTICA 2020

Athens, 10 February 2020 | Greek businesses staged a strong presence at this month’s FRUITLOGISTICA 2020 International Exhibition with 78 Greek exhibitors participating in the world’s leading trade fair for fresh produce.
The Greek participation at the fair, which was held Feb. 5-7 in Berlin, included representatives from across the sector, including packagers, distributors and producers of fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as producers of machinery for the industry.
The large number of Greek companies present is linked both to the upward trajectory of Greek exports and the intensified efforts of Greek companies to boost their exports and penetrate dynamic foreign markets.
FRUITLOGISTICA is a leading trade fair in the industry with this year’s participation surpassing expectations and welcoming 72,000 visitors from 130 countries, and 3,300 exhibitors from 93 countries. Many of the Greek exhibitors present this year were able to seek new partnerships and plan to attend FRUITLOGISTICA again in 2021.
The Greek national pavilion, organized by Enterprise Greece, hosted 22 exhibitors. Among them were some of Greece’s largest exporters in the sector; consultants of WIN, representing the European program “European Fruits;” as well as the Central Markets and Fisheries Organization (OKAA-CMFO).
The Greek delegation to the fair was honored by the presence of Apostolos Vessiropoulos, Deputy Minister of Finance; Panagiotis Stamboulidis, Secretary General of Commerce & Consumer Protection; Christos Krommydas, President of OKAA; Apostolos Apostolakos, CEO of OKAA; and Charalambos Kounalakis, Commercial Attaché of the Greek Embassy in Berlin.
