Greece participates at ELECTRONICA 2022

Athens, 30 November 2022 | Seven Greek companies presented their products at ELECTRONICA 2022, a leading, international trade fair for electronics held in Munich, Germany. This is the first time that Greece has a national stand in this exhibition, attesting to the growing importance and strength of the Greek tech sector.
Enterprise Greece in cooperation with HETiA (Hellenic Emerging Technologies Industry Association), co-organized the Greek participation in ELECTRONICA 2022, which was held from November 15 to 18 in Munich, Germany, at Messe München.
ELECTRONICA 2022 is organized every two years with more than 2,000 exhibitors, including some of the largest companies in the sector, such as STMicroelectronics, Texas Instrument, Sony, Samsung, Nikon, etc. The ELECTRONICA exhibition brings together a wide range of technologies, products and solutions for the entire electronics industry, from electromechanical parts and peripherals, to semiconductors, nano-systems, and wireless technologies.
The Executive Director and Member of the BoD of Enterprise Greece, Betty Alexandropoulou, said: “We are proud to support the seven innovative companies that participated for the first time in this important international electronics exhibition. Greece is showing another side of itself and in the field of microelectronics with the participation of promising new companies created by Greek scientists in Greece. Enterprise Greece will continue its wide ranging support of technology companies that bring multiple benefits to the country’s economy.”
Dr. Manolis Zervakis, the President of HETiA, said: “As the core of HETiA’s membership is the Greek chip and embedded system design ecosystem, it was quite natural for our members to participate at ELECTRONICA 2022, especially after the two-year break, due to the pandemic. I thank Enterprise Greece for its kind support in organizing the first national delegation to this show, putting Greece on the semiconductor map and especially with a view towards setting a new national strategy within the context of the EU’s CHIPS ACT. We are now planning our involvement in the next ELECTRONICA fair in 2024 and with an even larger national participation.”
The Consul General of Greece in Munich, Vassilios Gouloussis, and the Secretary of the Office of Economic and Commercial Affairs, Georgios Lymberis visited ELECTRONICA 2022. In his remarks, Mr. Gouloussis noted: “The first time participation of seven innovative Greek companies in this very important technology exhibition is significant and shows the dynamism and potential with which the tech sector in Greece is developing. We are encouraged by the positive comments the participants have made about the meetings they’ve held during the exhibition, as well as the teamwork between HETiA and Enterprise Greece, which produced this very good result. Finally, let us emphasize that both the Greek Consulate in Munich and the Office of Economic and Commercial Affairs are here to support the participants, providing them with useful information on the German market.”
