GREEK PARTICIPATION IN IFAT 2024- Strong Interest in the Field of Environment and Circular Economy

Athens, May 22, 2024 | The participation of Enterprise Greece in the International Exhibition of Water, Sewerage, Recycling, Waste Collection, and City Cleanliness, IFAT Munich, held from May 13 to 17, 2024, was completed.

This year’s exhibition, one of the leading in the industry worldwide, featured 3,211 exhibitors from 61 countries and was attended by 142,000 people from 170 countries. The Greek presence was significant, with 15 Greek companies participating with a stand. Greece was also represented by an organized business delegation of 30 representatives from companies and institutions, as well as by individual companies who were in Munich to discuss challenges, developments, innovations, and prospects in this dynamic sector with colleagues from around the world.

During the exhibition, Enterprise Greece organized 22 business meetings to inform large international companies about the development of comprehensive solutions for waste management and energy recovery, the possibilities of financing such investment projects, and the general developments in the sector.

The main issues discussed at this year’s IFAT Munich focused on ways to tackle climate change globally and protect the environment, mainly through the achievement of international climate protection goals. In this context, the circular economy plays a decisive role as it can effectively reduce the use of primary raw materials in industry through the recovery and recycling of materials for use in production processes, thus achieving resource savings and reducing the environmental footprint of industrial production.
