Impressive Greek participation at the PLMA 2024 World of Private Label International Trade Show

Athens, June 13th, 2024 l Greece left the best impressions at the 37th PLMA 2024 World of Private Label International Trade Show, which took place on May 23rd-24th in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
The Greek stand, organized by Enterprise Greece, hosted 35 dynamic export companies, mainly from the food and beverage sector, in 530m2, showcasing excellent Greek food products and holding more than 4,000 b2b meetings.
Holding the world’s largest and most important position in the private label sector, PLMA brings retailers in contact with manufacturers, helping them to find new products, make new contacts and discover new ideas. It showcases the latest trends, mainly in the food industry, including organic, plant-based and sustainable products and packaging. This product category represents a global turnover of hundreds of billions, both in food and beverages as well as in other items (e.g. personal care products, detergents, etc.). This year’s event attracted more than 2,900 companies from 73 countries and was visited by over 31,000 industry professionals.
The category of private label products is important for Greek exports, since key sectors, such as canning, contribute hundreds of millions of euros from exports around the world and, at the same time, support thousands of jobs in manufacturing, as well as in the primary agricultural sector.
Foreign trade investors maintain a high interest in Greek food, favouring business meetings between Greek exporters and visiting professionals, many of which create prospects for the further penetration of Greek products and for increasing their share on the shelves of the world’s largest retailers.
The Greek participation was honoured by the presence of the Ambassador of Greece in The Hague, Ms. Katerina Gini, and the Economic and Commercial Counsellor of Greece in The Hague, Mr. Evangelos Dairetzis, who spoke at length with the Greek exhibitors.
