International agricultural show “INDAGRA 2023” – Enterprise Greece encourages agricultural entrepreneurship

Athens, 3 November 2023 | For the first time since the pandemic, Enterprise Greece organized the Greek participation at the International Agricultural Exhibition “INDAGRA 2023,” which took place from October 25 to 29 at the exhibition venue “ROMEXPO” in Bucharest, Romania.

“INDAGRA 2023” is the largest and most significant agricultural show not only in Romania, but also in Southeastern Europe, and is organized by ROMEXPO in collaboration with the Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

For many years, Enterprise Greece has participated in the expo. We returned this year, organizing the National participation, which consisted of seven (7) companies: SIPTEC, EVAK, ALBANIDIS, PALAPLAST, BIOPLANET, OLYMPIAS, PEPINIERA OLYMPUS – MISYRAS PETROS, while EUROFIT was also present through its subsidiary company in Romania.
Romania is an important target market for the domestic industry, and many Greek firms have subsidiaries in the country. The sustainable growth of the primary sector is a focus of the government’s plan, and Enterprise Greece encourages agricultural entrepreneurship and the promotion of Greek product exports to foreign markets in this context.

Ms. Betty Alexandropoulou, Executive Director and Member of the Board of Directors of Enterprise Greece, mentioned that “the primary sector is one of the main pillars of the Greek economy and, given the need at the international level to ensure food sufficiency, it is vital.” Greek businesses are known for their expertise, vision, and outgoing personalities. Our objective at Enterprise Greece is for Greek exporters to use our tools and services to further penetrate and consolidate them in new markets, so increasing their extroversion and increasing our national exports.”

Ms. Sofia Grammata, Ambassador of Greece to Romania, visited the Greek pavilion who commented, “It was with great pleasure that we visited the International Agricultural Exhibition Indagra 2023 with the Economic & Commercial Affairs Office of the Embassy in Bucharest.” I noted Enterprise Greece’s superb organization, as well as the good quality and advanced technology of the products of the participating Greek firms, all of which are advantages in the very competitive Romanian market. Noting that Romania is one of the top ten destinations for Greek products, particularly agri-food and machinery, the export value of which is expected to be more than 35% of total Greek sector exports, I believe that the successful presence of a Greek pavilion in Indagra will continue in the coming years.”
