International Exhibition FRUITLOGISTICA Berlin 2024 New opportunities and agreements for Greek exporters
Athens, February 19, 2024 | New agreements for the further increase of fruit and vegetable exports were secured by Greek exhibitors who participated in the international exhibition FRUITLOGISTICA, held in Berlin from February 7 to 9, 2024.
In the national pavilion of 332 sq., organized by the Hellenic Company of Investments and Foreign Trade (Enterprise Greece), some of the largest export companies in the sector were hosted, along with official fruit and vegetable promotion and marketing bodies, such as the Organization of Central Markets and Fisheries S.A. (OKAA). The significance of the world’s largest exhibition of fresh agricultural products is confirmed by the participation of 3,239 exhibitors from 84 countries and the record-breaking attendance, reaching over 78,000 visitors from 130 countries this year.
To further strengthen the export potential of small businesses that are looking to operate abroad, Enterprise Greece, for the first time this year, organized B2B meetings of Greek start-ups in the sector within the national pavilion with foreign buyers. In addition to exploring new partnerships with foreign buyers, participants had the opportunity to closely observe the exhibition and network with other experienced Greek and foreign exporters. These meetings are expected to provide even greater impetus to the industry. It’s worth noting that Greek fruit and vegetable exports increased by 21% in value and 8.5% in volume in 2023 compared to 2022, reaching 1.68 billion euros and 1.730 million tons, respectively.
