International Property Exhibition MIPIM 2019

Athens, 26 March 2019 | Hundreds of investors and business leaders from around the world visited the Greek pavilion at this month’s MIPIM 2019, Europe’s leading international property exhibition, confirming the growing interest in Greek real estate as one of the Mediterranean’s hottest investment prospects.
More than 350 leading investors and business decision makers visited the Greek pavilion, with large audiences attending the special events organized by Enterprise Greece. The investors, fund managers, and executives from international hotel chains and construction companies who visited the Greek pavilion, were interested in assessing the country’s real estate opportunities amid a recovery in Greek real estate and a booming tourism sector.
In the last few years, Greek tourism has led dozens of foreign hospitality companies and brand name hotel chains to invest in Greek property. Recent surveys show that Greece is among the three most popular destinations in the Mediterranean – and among the top 10 in Europe – for hotel investors.
The MIPIM exhibition, held in Cannes, France, 12-15 March 2019, is now in its 30th year and brings together the most important companies in the real estate industry and related sub-sectors. This year, the exhibition welcomed 26,800 visitors from all sectors of the international real estate industry, 400+ speakers, 560 political leaders from 100 countries, as well as 5,400 investors and financial institutions from around the world.
The Greek real estate companies participating in the exhibition included National Pangea, the Public Properties Company, Revythis & Associates and V² Development. Representatives from the companies briefed visitors about the developments in the Greek real estate market and the many projects now underway.
As part of the national participation in the MIPIM Exhibition, Enterprise Greece organized a networking event and an investment seminar. The networking event, held on Tuesday, March 12th, drew more than 100 guests. The investment seminar, on March 14, presented Greece’s investment prospects in tourism and real estate to a targeted audience of 100 international executives.
Enterprise Greece Chairman and CEO Grigoris Stergioulis, who led the Greek mission to the exhibition, said: “The Greek real estate industry, after a long period of stagnation, is already showing visible signs of recovery and it is important to further support this recovery. We would like to thank the Greek companies that have actively furthered the national presence and represent the pillars of this important effort.”
Mr. Yiannis Polyzos, Chairman of the Public Properties Company, stated: “Our participation in MIPIM and the relevant meetings and investment partnerships that have taken place during the show have highlighted the growing interest of investors in the Greek real estate sector, particularly in terms of tourism development, housing and commercial leases.”
