Masters of Wine to tour Athens, Crete and Santorini

Athens, 24 September 2019 | Enterprise Greece this month will host 20 Masters of Wine to tour the wine making regions of Athens, Crete and Santorini and sample the fine wines of Greece.
During the visit, which will extend from 28 September to 5 October, the Masters of Wine will have the opportunity to taste 125 wines from all over Greece through special tasting events, as well as visit vineyards and wineries.
The UK-based Institute of Masters of Wine promotes professional excellence and knowledge of the art, science and business of wine. The Institute’s 390 members from 30 countries earn the coveted title Master of Wine after passing a high-level certification process, where they must demonstrate their knowledge of wine and vineyards.
The Masters of Wine are viewed as leading ambassadors of the industry and are influential in journalism, trade and wine production. They are recognized for their authority and opinions, and exercise a strong influence on both commercial and consumer audiences.
This year’s event is supported by two Greek Masters of Wine, Mr. Konstantinos Lazarakis and Mr. Yiannis Karakassis, and is the second visit by a delegation of Masters to Greece. The previous visit was in 2013.
