Natural & Organic Products Europe 2019 Εxhibition

Athens, 12 April 2019 | The strength of the Greek natural products sector was on show at this month’s Natural & Organic Products Europe 2019 exhibition with the participation of 50 Greek companies in the national stand organized by Enterprise Greece.

The Greek delegation to the exhibition, which was held at the Excel center in London, April 7-8, also included representation from the regions of Crete, Central Greece, Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, as well as the Larissa Chamber of Commerce and Greece’s Inspection and Certification Organization of Organic Products (DIO).

The robust interest in Greece’s high-quality natural products was reflected in the enthusiastic participation of 45 international buyers and distributors at a working dinner hosted on April 7 by Enterprise Greece during the exhibition. The dinner was part of the agency’s active support for Greek companies seeking access to the UK market, which represents a market of international scope and significance for organic products.

In remarks, Enterprise Greece Chairman and CEO Grigoris Stergioulis said: “Greece is leaving its recent crisis behind and dynamically opening up to world markets. The rise in investment and exports clearly demonstrates this. The UK market continues to be very important one for Greek food products and, despite the uncertainty surrounding Brexit, it has been growing in recent years. It is a great pleasure and honor to support the small Greek exporters of organic food and natural beauty products. Enterprise Greece is helping them to expand both in the British market and in northern Europe where consumers value the quality of natural Greek products.”

Panagiotis Papanastasiou, Head of the Office of Economic and Commercial Affairs of the Greek Embassy in London, emphasized the growing presence of Greek organic products in the highly competitive British market, which he attributed to the continuous improvement in the quality of Greek exports. “The United Kingdom, no matter what form Brexit takes, will continue to be a major trading partner for both the EU and Greece,” he said in his remarks.

Further information on the opportunities in the Greek market was presented by Carsten Holm, Managing Director, Diversified Communications and Anna Kalliani, President of the British-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce.
