Online Discussion on Brexit

Athens, 22 January 2021 I The British business community was recently invited to an online event hosted by Enterprise Greece, on the subject of investment opportunities in post-Brexit Greece, in a range of highly sought sectors, like tourism-real estate, shared service centers and alternative funds. The Webinar was attended by high rank representatives of major British enterprises, from all sectors.
The CEO of Enterprise Greece, Mr. George Filiopoulos, focused on the main reasons that made Greece a very promising and safe destination in Southeast Europe, even amidst the current business uncertainty worldwide and pointed out the strong international investment interest in various economic sectors of the country.
Enterprise Greece officials presented the investment proposal of Greece’s investment proposal in the above-mentioned sectors and gave a review of, the recent developments both in terms of market size, as well as in terms of specific investment opportunities and available investment incentives.
The discussion that followed the presentations, was chaired by the journalist Anthi Karassava, who was joined by investors-company representatives already established in Greece in the said sectors, namely. Mr. Kyriacos Sabatakakis, President & CEO of Accenture and Mr. Elie Milky, Vice President Development, Radisson Hotel Group, Middle East, Pakistan, Greece & Cyprus, who both gave a short overview of their investment experience in Greece.
Mr. Sabatakakis highlighted the return of confidence observed in the Greek economy and the investment opportunities that this brings for both Accenture and its large client companies, the significant impact of the country’s dynamic digital transformation, the potential created through the establishment of the venture capital Fund «Phaistos», but also the high level of trained human resources available in the country.
Mr. Milky referred to the dynamics and competitiveness of the Greek golden visa program, especially for British citizens in view of Brexit, the opportunities presented for international brands, such as Radisson, as regards entering partnerships with Greek hotel owners, with the country presenting a wide range of opportunities in that field, but also to the positive prospects of the country in the long run, taking into account, the investment framework as it is formed.
