POLLUTEC 2023: investment interest in Greece’s environmental and circular economy opportunities

Athens, 16 October 2023 | Enterprise Greece’s participation in the Pollutec 2023 conference and exhibition in Lyon, France, from Tuesday, October 10, to Friday, October 13, 2023, sparked significant investment interest in our country’s environmental and circular economy opportunities.
During POLLUTEC, Enterprise Greece organized 21 business meetings aimed at informing internationally active companies about domestic regulatory developments in the waste management and energy utilization sector. These meetings also highlighted available financing options for investment projects. It is worth emphasizing that our government has established explicit quantitative objectives through various related legislations, including the National Waste Management Plan (ECHR 2021-2030) and the National Energy and Climate Plan (NECP 2021-2030).
The biennial expo, held in the French capital, welcomed nearly 1700 exhibitors from 130 nations this year. With over 80,000 visitors in attendance, the event provided a platform to showcase the latest solutions in environmental technology, energy transition, and the growing emphasis on the circular economy within the EU and its member states.
Attendees of Pollutec 2023 had the opportunity to engage in eight thematic sessions covering innovation, sea and coastline issues, water resource management, lignite phase-out strategies, climate change adaptation for cities and regions, organic waste management and recovery, circular economy and resource sustainability, as well as discussions on health and the environment.
