“SelectUSA Summit 2021”- Enterprise Greece supports the Greek Business Delegation
Athens, 22 April 2021 | Enterprise Greece, the state agency that promotes exports and attracts foreign direct investment, and the US Embassy in Greece, join forces and organize the official Greek business delegation to “SelectUSA Summit 2021”, which will be conducted virtually from 7 until 11 June 2021.
“SelectUSA Summit 2021”, an event of great importance, is held annually on the other side of the Atlantic and brings together companies from the international business community and representatives of economic development organizations, aiming to showcase the prospects for business development in the USA.
For the first time, Enterprise Greece co-organizes the event and supports the Greek business delegation, hoping to provide the opportunity to a larger number of Greek export companies to approach the US market. Given the fact that the event this year is conducted virtually, makes it easier and more accessible for Greek companies to participate.
This initiative is part of Enterprise Greece’s business plan for 2021, aiming to reach this target market through innovative actions. Enterprise Greece has already successfully implemented a series of 3 webinars themed: “Doing Business in the USA, COVID-19, Challenges and Opportunities”, the cooperation with the US-MAC Organization and the organization of the action “Thriving in the Storm”, which focused on training Greek information technology companies by executives from Silicon Valley and established a strategic alliance with international e-commerce giant such as eBay.
Small and medium sized enterprises operating in sectors with significant export prospects, such as Food & Beverage, Chemicals, Consumer Products, etc. will be invited to participate and if selected, they will attend a five-day interactive program, where they will be given the unique opportunity to participate in high-end networking. During the Program, they will have the opportunity to be briefed by experts, representatives of the US economic community, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders on the available financial incentives and at the same time receive guidance on business trends and best practices to enter a market with huge growth prospects, such as the US.
A special emphasis this year is given to the IT sector, where technology companies and start-ups, are invited to participate. The spotlight however this year, is given to women’s entrepreneurship in the field of technology and the window of opportunity to gain access to the US market.
The announcement of the digital event will be launched on April 26, 2021. Welcoming remarks will be made by The Deputy Minister for Economic Diplomacy and Openness, Mr. Kostas Fragogiannis and the US Ambassador to Greece, Mr. Geoffrey Pyatt. On behalf of Enterprise Greece, Ms. Betty Alexandropoulou, Executive Director and member of the Board of Enterprise Greece will make a presentation, while among the speakers will be a Senior Executive of the US Department of Commerce and SelectUSA, as well as, the President of the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Nikolaos Bakatselos. Also, executives of Greek enterprises will share their experience from doing business in the US market.
