SIAL International Exhibition 2024- Greece had the 7th largest participation among 127 countries with 260 exhibitors

Athens, 31 October 2024 | The largest International Food Exhibition in the world SIAL PARIS 2024 was completed, with a large and impressive national participation, which was organized from 19 to 23 October 2024 by the Enterprise Greece.
The National Pavilion, covering an area of approximately 2,050 square meters, hosted 120 extrovert businesses, the Regions of Attica, Western Greece, Thessaly, Epirus, Central Greece, as well as the Chambers of Aitoloakarnania, Achaia, Evia, Ilia, Laconia and Larissa. The message of the National Participation focused on Greek food, as a focus of the Mediterranean diet and a leading example of healthy, natural nutrition that provides wellness and pleasure.
Greek exhibitors participated in more than 24,000 business meetings, during which they had the opportunity to present the best food products produced in our country and promote them to professionals and businesses from all over the world.
Greece also stood out in the field of innovation, with ENIA FOODS—Aeons winning the Innovations award in the Packaging category and the student team of the National Kapodistrian University winning the Gold Award in the international competition EEIG Ecotrophelia Europe with LegumiNutty, an innovative product of high nutritional value and low environmental footprint based on chickpeas.
At the same time, throughout the exhibition, there was a space to promote Greek gastronomy, where chef Dina Nicolaou carried out daily demonstrations of Greek Mediterranean cuisine, attracting the interest of thousands of foreign visitors.
The national participation was honored with the presence of the Ambassador of Greece to France, Mr. Dimitrios Zevelakis, and the Regional Governor of Attica, Mr. Nikos Hardalias.
Commenting on the national participation in SIAL, the CEO of Enterprise Greece, Dr. Marinos Giannopoulos, stated: “We are proud of Greece’s dynamic presence in SIAL, the most important food and beverage exhibition in the world. Our country presented to the world its fine products, such as olive oil, wine, cheeses, and herbs, and allowed thousands of visitors to discover the quality and authenticity of the Greek land. At the same time, Greek exhibitors had the opportunity to come into contact with many professionals in the industry and present them with the unique flavors and innovations that characterize Greek production. Enterprise Greece has made every effort to boost exports and promote Greece on the world map of gastronomy.”
It is noted that SIAL PARIS celebrated this year its 60 years of operation, with an impressive in size and pulse organization, with 7,400 exhibitors, 127 national participations and 250,000 visitors. This year’s ‘Own the Change’ theme focused on four key themes, important for the food industry of the future: Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Deep Tech and AI, the Supply Chain and the African continent, where many innovations in the field of nutrition have been implemented in recent years.
