“SMM 2024” – Greece’s Strong Presence at the Leading International Exhibition for Industrial and Marine Equipment

Athens, 01 October 2024 | Greece marked its largest participation to date at the 30th edition of the international exhibition “SMM” for Industrial and Marine Equipment, held at the Hamburg Messe Exhibition Center in Hamburg, Germany, from September 3 to 6, 2024.

At the world’s premier trade show and conference for the maritime industry, focusing on industrial marine equipment and marine technology, Greece’s national participation doubled compared to 2022, both in terms of the number of companies and exhibition space. The 550 sq.m. national pavilion was organized by Enterprise Greece in collaboration with the Hellenic-German Chamber, Hemexpo, and WIMA, featuring 30 Greek companies and institutions.

“SMM” provides an excellent platform for businesses to exchange knowledge on cutting-edge technologies and services while fostering partnerships. It has established itself as the foremost event in the maritime industry, attracting over 40,000 visitors from around the world.

This year, more than 2,000 exhibitors showcased their products and services, with national pavilions from 22 key markets, including Germany, Norway, the United States, Singapore, Canada, China, and Japan. The increased interest from Greek companies was evident, as numerous high-level B2B meetings were held during the event, contributing to the strengthening of their international presence and the formation of new, significant global partnerships.

Given the success of this year’s participation, Greece’s involvement in SMM is seen as highly significant and substantially improved compared to previous years. The number of participating Greek companies is expected to rise even further in future editions of the exhibition.
