The Biggest Greek Mission Coming to Gamescom 2024
Athens, 13 August 2024 | With great joy and pride, the Hellenic Digital Game Creators Association (GDA Greece) announces the participation of the Greek delegation in Gamescom 2024 to be held in Cologne from August 21 to 25. The Greek participation is co-organized with the Hellenic Investment and Foreign Trade Corporation (Enterprise Greece) and the support of EKOME. For the third consecutive year, Greek game developers will have the opportunity to present their projects at the largest digital entertainment trade fair in Europe.
This year, the Greek delegation will be the largest ever to participate in Gamescom, aspiring to conquer the exhibition and impress the global community of gamers and industry professionals. With 12 unique projects, Greek creators are ready to showcase their creativity, innovation and passion for the art of digital games.
The projects of the Greek Mission:
1. Homeseek by Traptics
A post-apocalyptic survival strategy game, set in a dystopian Earth of the next century, where resources have been depleted. In a desert where water has become the new gold, every decision becomes a matter of life or death. With the guidance of the player, survival may be possible.

2. Selini by Cymban
The player is immersed in a non-linear adventure filled with dark and corrupt replicants, alternate gravity, an ancient spaceship, an abandoned fishing boat, secret tribes, and more. He guides a lonely replicant through the shadows and reveals the secrets of this cryptic world. Combining game styles such as Inside, Hyper Light Drifter and Environmental Station Alpha, SELINI transforms into a 2.5D story-rich metroidvania focused on exploring an enigmatic interconnected world.

A pirate-metal-inspired, top-down adventure game developed for the GAMEBOY™ series of handheld consoles. Set in an alternate story where the mythology of Golden Age pirates meets the powerful beats of heavy metal, players embark on an epic journey to collect mysterious nautical tunes, which they will use in rhythmic battles to overcome enemies, navigate dangerous waters, and survive the terrors hidden beneath the ocean waves. Chantey offers a unique, cross-genre experience, combining elements of classic adventure and rhythm gameplay with contemporary game design and presented with a strikingly unique visual style that pushes the material to the limit of its potential. Chantey also features an authentic soundtrack that echoes the distinctive sound of pirate metal music, paying tribute to legendary and pioneering bands in the genre.

4. UNSAFE by Onskulls
A horror co-op sci-fi game. The player plays alone or teams up with a team of up to 4 players to survive on different space stations that have succumbed to horrors of their own making. The player has the ability to explore stations, discover secrets, retrieve materials and sell them to continue the survival cycle.

A first-person horror adventure that immerses the player in a nightmarish-hellish world filled with strange forms and grim visual effects. The player explores otherworldly-surreal landscapes and unravels mysteries in this atmospheric journey through the macabre.

6. Elevator Down από την Envy Softworks
A game, a crucial node of the Other World – The Life Assessment Department. In “Elevator Down”, the player plays the role of a guardian between Heaven and Hell, appointed to make the most important decision: who climbs on the grass and who descends to hellish torture. Will the player become a harbinger of hope or an enforceable sentence? He will have to explore the details of different religions, dive into the depths of morality, redemption and the human condition, and define the destiny of Souls.

A survival, psychological first-person horror game. In the dark rooms of an expanding mansion, a terrifying story unfolds. As the mansion “breathes”, hidden secrets are revealed within its walls. Survival depends on your mental health. Always remember that time can be either friend or foe.

A comedy adventure game with elements of noir, sci-fi and mystery, set in a fictional version of New York in the 1930s. With atmospheric black-and-white vintage graphics, lovable anthropomorphic characters, immersive Voice-Over, and “non-human” voice acting, the game promises at least one joke about a cat’s nipples (they have six!).
