The National Pavilion at AUSA is traditionally held under the auspices of the Ministry of National Defence and the General Directorate of Defence Equipment and Investments (MoD/GDDIA) and is organized with the support of Enterprise Greece. Its organization was undertaken for the 11th consecutive year by the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce, which thus confirms its faith in the growth potential of the Greek defense industry while aiming to strengthen its presence in the US. Indicative of the importance of our country’s participation in the leading event in the field of defense industry, is the fact that more than 40,000 professional visitors from the global defense industry, representatives of leading American defense houses and the US military, and more than 700 companies from 80 countries of the world participate, many of them with national pavilions, occupying an exhibition space of 28,000 sq.m.
The common goal of the Chamber and all stakeholders is to develop even stronger ties with U.S. industries. A “strong” Greek presence will prove not only that Greek defense companies can surprise with their wide range of innovative products and reliable services, but will also reflect the vitality, competitiveness, and strong dynamics of the Greek defense industry, confirming our country’s position as a valuable partner in international programs.
The CEO of Enterprise Greece, Dr. Marinos Giannopoulos, stated: “We are satisfied with our country’s presence at this year’s event, in which we presented the largest national mission with the addition of 5 new companies. The foundations were also laid for the signing of new agreements, which strengthened the country’s extroversion. During our contacts here, it was confirmed by everyone that Greece is now a flexible, regional leader, focused on building a secure future for the country and the Eastern Mediterranean, through innovation and strategic partnerships. The modernization of the country’s armed forces and defense industry is also progressing rapidly, with Greek companies now considered among the leading producers of high-tech defense equipment, in products such as submarine batteries, night vision systems, drones and other applications.
At the European level, Greece is present in Europe’s efforts to strengthen cross-border defense cooperation. Against this background, it is a key priority for Enterprise Greece to actively support the participation of the Greek defense industry in AUSA, which allows Greek companies to present their innovative products to an international audience”.
The President of the American Hellenic Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Nikolaos Bakatselos, stated: “Our participation in AUSA 2024 was completed with great success with the organization of the Greek Pavilion for the eleventh consecutive year. The American Hellenic Chamber of Commerce remains committed to promoting the extroversion of the Greek defense industry in the United States, as well as strengthening Greece-U.S. bilateral relations. Our participation in AUSA is a strategic choice for us, as it offers a solid platform to achieve these goals. This year’s presence with 17 exceptional exhibitor companies demonstrates once again the undeniable progress and dynamics of the Greek defense industry on the world stage, and their commitment to innovation and high technology, as well as Greece’s strong position in the field of international security and defense.”
