The Greek cosmetics with the support of Enterprise Greece at the leading beauty exhibition COSMOPROF WORLDWIDE BOLOGNA

Athens, 11 April 2024 | Thirty-three (33) Greek companies in the cosmetics and perfume sector participated in the national delegation successfully organized by Enterprise Greece, at the 55th International Perfume and Cosmetics Exhibition, COSMOPROF WORLDWIDE BOLOGNA 2024, which took place in Bologna, Italy, from 21 to 24 March 2024.

Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna is one of the most important international cosmetics exhibitions which takes place every year in the renovated Bologna Fiere Exhibition Centre, with a net exhibition area of 200,000 sq.m. It is the most important platform for product promotion and the development of international professional networks in the beauty industry, as well as a meeting point for industry professionals, companies, and experts in the field of cosmetics.

This year, a total of 3,012 exhibitors from 69 countries participated (an increase of 4% compared to the 2023 event) and the exhibition welcomed 248,500 visitors from 150 countries. It is worth noting that the 3 sectors of Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna aligned for the first time and opened their gates on the same day, thus enhancing the implementation of B2B meetings in the exhibition area and serving the presence of many stakeholders throughout the duration of the event. More specifically:

1. COSMOPACK (21-23/03/2024): It was dedicated to the complete supply chain of the cosmetics industry, such as ingredients and raw materials, production of private label products, packaging, machinery, automation, etc.
2. COSMO PERFUMERY & COSMETICS (21-23/03/2024): She was dedicated to the cosmetics industry and specifically to body and face care.
3. COSMO (HAIR & NAIL) BEAUTY SALON (21-24/03/2024): It was dedicated to the cosmetics industry and specifically to hair and nail care.

The presence of Greek companies at the International Exhibition Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna was combined this year with innovation and product quality, elements that contribute to the recognition of Greek cosmetics in international markets and make them extremely competitive in the global market.

Commenting on Greece’s presence at the exhibition, as well as the course of the cosmetics industry, Enterprise Greece’s CEO, Dr. Marinos Giannopoulos, said: “We are pleased to note the significant increase in demand for Greek cosmetics from abroad in recent years, which is largely due to their excellent quality and the high production standards followed by companies in this sector. The demand from the international market pushes many Greek companies to operate in a context of a structured effort of extroversion, with Enterprise Greece being always on the side of Greek companies, planning and implementing actions and promotions for the sector”.

The ISD Office of the Embassy of Rome, which supported the national participation under the responsibility of Enterprise Greece, as well as all exhibitors, was represented at the International Cosmoprof Exhibition 2024 by Mrs. Aikaterini Poulianitis, Secretary of the Economic and Financial Services B’. As part of her presence, she visited the Greek pavilions and following her meetingswith Greek businessmen, he underlined that “the broad and representative Greek presence, as well as the nominations/distinctions of Greek products, are indicative elements of recognition of the dynamic development of the sector and strengthening its extroversion, especially in the field of natural cosmetics where our country, due to its excellent and unique raw materials, has a distinct comparative advantage”.

Finally, it is worth noting that within the framework of the event, the “Cosmoprof & Cosmopack Awards” was held, a celebration of awards to participating companies in the industry, which was attended by a selected audience of international journalists, buyers, companies, and partners. During the event, an award was given to the Greek company KORRES S.A. which participated in the “COSMOPROF AWARDS” sector and specifically in the category: “Fragrance: Personal & Home”.
