The journey of “Greek Marble” for 2023 starts from “TISE-StonExpo” in Las Vegas, 31/1-02/02
Athens, January 27, 2023| Following the successful participation of the Greek Marble sector at the International Exhibition “The Big 5 2022” in Dubai, with the launch of the new Brand name “Greek Marble, Then. Now. Forever”, the first such event for 2023 will be the International Trade Show “TISE-StonExpo/Tile Expo 2023” from January 31 to February 2, 2023, in Las Vegas, USA.
Enterprise Greece supports the 1st Greek participation of the sector in the StonExpo exhibition that takes place within the International Surface Event (TISE).
The International Fair runs for 35 consecutive years, at the Mandalay Bay Exhibition Center in Las Vegas, USA, and is considered the most important exhibition of the sector in North America. Comprised of three world-class tradeshows: Surfaces (flooring sector), StonExpo (marbles and stones), and Tile Expo (tiles), it is the industry marketplace for buyers, specifiers, and influencers to source products, gain design inspiration and develop their businesses.
Eight prominent companies of the sector will participate in the national pavilion, while a central “Greek Marble” pavilion has been designed, aiming to promote some of the world-famous types of Greek marble, through a unique interactive experience. Visitors will have the opportunity to watch step by step the creation of a work of art that will be produced by a sculptor graduate student from the School of Fine Arts of Panormos, Tinos, Greece, and get informed about the endless possibilities offered by Greek marble in various applications. During the first day of the exhibition, a presentation speech about Greek marble will also be held at the Natural Stone Theater.
At the International Exhibition TISE-StonExpo, thousands of trade visitors will be informed about the quality characteristics and the history of Greek marble over the centuries, as well as the new possibilities for marble processing by Greek companies so that it can be used in high-end international projects. Enterprise Greece and the Association of Marble Businesses of Macedonia-Thrace (SEMMTH) collaborated aiming the same goal of strengthening the extroversion of this emblematic sector for Greek exports and increase the added value of the final product. The Marble Association of Macedonia -Thrace participates in the Natural Stone Strategic Alliance in the framework of which the Associations representing countries with top production and exporting activity work closely together for the strategic development of the sector. In this Alliance, apart from Greece, Brazil, the US, Spain, Italy, and Portugal, are participating whereas during this exhibition a meeting with the corresponding Associations of Turkey and Egypt will take place.
In 2022, the first live event of TISE following the pandemic took place on 02/01 – 02/03, at Las Vegas, the total exhibition area reached 302,748 square feet (35,000 m2) and was attended by 475 exhibitors (America 76%, Canada 7%, and non-America 3% – reduced due to the pandemic). The number of visitors increased by 71% compared to that of 2022. Greek enterprises will have the opportunity to network with many buyers, build relationships and develop their businesses with some of the strongest enterprises in the industry during the three days of the Exhibition.
