The primary sector is one of Enterprise Greece’s top goals- Support for Greek firms at AGRITECHNICA 2023
Athens, November 23, 2023 | The International Exhibition of Agro-agricultural Machinery and Machinery (AGRITECHNICA 2023) taking place in Hannover, was completed on November 18, 2023. The show, which is considered the largest in the business internationally and is held every two years, took place from November 12 to 18, 2023.
For the first time, Enterprise Greece supported the Greek participation. This year’s event drew a record 2,860 exhibitors from 149 nations, while the number of attendees surpassed all previous records, totaling almost 500,000. Italy had the most enterprises participating, with 351 in total, while China had 182, Turkey had 159, the Netherlands had 141, France had 106, and India had 81.
Mr Stephan Weil, Prime Minister of Lower Saxony, launched the exhibition on November 13th. Enterprise Greece and Mr. Vikelidis, Consul General of Greece in Hamburg, represented Greece. Along with the inauguration, the “Gold Award” for the most contemporary and inventive agricultural machine of the year was presented. The Greek firms KARATZIS S.A, KOUIMTZIS, PALAPLAST, AGROMA, DASTERI, SIPTEC- Farmers agriPOWER, and PLASTIKA KRITIS participated with individual exhibits, aimed at creating a favorable image to potential buyers and, as a result, reaching commercial deals. Furthermore, these firms have a significant presence in the home market, offer new goods, and can compete on an equal footing with firms from other nations.
At the invitation of the organizing authority (DLG), representatives of Enterprise Greece attended a working lunch on November 12 and had the opportunity to present the primary sector of our country and Greek businesses in the presence of representatives from the other countries participating in the exhibition.This area is, after all, of paramount importance for most countries, due to the urgent need to find solutions to the issue of food sufficiency. At the same time, primary production is clearly related to the employment of contemporary technical equipment, which has a significant impact on crop quality attributes and modifies traditional agricultural methods.
