Greek Mission to Japan

Greek Mission to Japan

A team of three of the government’s deputy ministers will carry out a visit to Japan from 26 to 29 January, for meetings of political and investment interest.

More specifically, the Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Kostas Fragogiannis, Energy, Gerasimos Thomas, and Development, Ioannis Tsakiris, accompanied by Alexis Patelis, the head of the Finance Office of the Prime Minister’s General Secretariat, and the Secretary General for International Economic Affairs, Grigoris Dimitriadis, will hold meetings with members of the Japanese government, entrepreneurs, and the country’s economic agencies.

The visit is being carried out in the context of the strengthening of the two countries’ relations and following a long series of consultations with representatives of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), who visited Greece in early September.

The schedule of meetings includes the Finance Ministry, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Infrastructure, Transport and Technology, the Ministry of Defence, the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), the Development Bank of Japan (DBJ), the Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC), the Japanese Business Federation (KEIDANREN), and the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO).

The Japan Bank for International Cooperation will hold a separate event welcoming the Greek government’s team. The event will be attended by a number of private enterprises and will include a presentation of investment opportunities in Greece concerning private investments and privatisations.
