Kormarine Busan 2017

Kormarine Busan 2017

Enterprise Greece in cooperation with the Hellenic Marine Equipment Manufacturers & Exporters – HEMEXPO – organized for the second time the Greek participation with a national booth at the Kormarine Busan 2017 International Shipbuilding and Industrial Equipment Exhibition from 24 to 27 October in Korea.

The Kormarine International Exhibition began in 1978 and is now one of the largest international exhibitions in the field of shipbuilding and industrial marine equipment. It is organized by Korea’s Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy, the country’s Marine Equipment Research Institute and Association of Marine Equipment Companies. Busan is the second largest city in Korea and home to the country’s 10 biggest shipbuilders, among them some of the world’s leading shipbuilders.

The event was held at the BEXCO exhibition center, with 1,390 companies from 55 countries participating and more than 45,000 visitors attending. Greece was one of 14 national delegations (also: Japan, China, Singapore, United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, Italy, Holland, Norway, Denmark, Finland, U.S., Taiwan) represented, with the Greek pavilion promoting Greek companies under the slogan: Smart Ship Solutions – Greek Marine Equipment. The national kiosk received very positive feedback and helped present leading Greek companies in the industry, whose representatives held extensive business meetings with visitors and leading to prospective cooperation agreements.

This year's event was attended by nine (9) Greek entities: Aluminox, Captain Nemo, Erma First ESK Engineering Solutions S.A., Environmental Protection Engineering S.A., Farad S.A. Heat Exchangers, Kleemann, Nanophos, Prisma Electronics S.A. and HEMEXPO – Hellenic Marine Equipment Manufacturers & Exporters.

Ms. Eleni Polychronopoulou, Chairman of the Board of HEMEXPO, stated that: "The International Exhibition of Shipbuilding and Maritime Equipment Kormarine is the largest exhibition for the industry internationally. The Greek industrial marine equipment products presented are innovative and of excellent quality. Greek entrepreneurs have once again shown that, with innovative ideas and perseverance, they can win the confidence of South Korea's high shipyard requirements. I believe that our participation has further strengthened the existing trade relations between the two countries, while we are aiming to increase the volume of exports of our industry to Korea in the next two years. The appearance of our national stand, and the organization and transport of exhibits by Enterprise Greece, were excellent. The management and executives of Enterprise Greece helped to dynamically and effectively support the Greek companies that participated."

Christos Staikos, President of Enterprise Greece, commented: "The national participation in the Kormarine 2017 International Exhibition is part of Enterprise Greece's integrated strategic plan, which has been developed over the last two years in collaboration with the shipping industry, aiming to promote the international reach  of Greek companies in the sector. More generally, the Greek maritime equipment industry is developing and claiming increased market share under the slogan: Smart Ship Solutions - Greek Marine Equipment. The Greek companies present at Kormarine demonstrated that they are competitive with much larger marine equipment producers in other countries. Enterprise Greece will continue to cooperate with the industry and its associations in the future, both to attract investment and to further promote innovative export products and services in the industrial marine equipment industry.”
