Exporting Greek products and services to the Balkans Enterprise Greece Workshop

Athens, 7 February 2019| Enterprise Greece, with the support of the General Secretariat for International Economic Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, organized a workshop on 5 February 2019, to provide information for Greek companies about exporting their products and services to the Balkans. The workshop was well attended and received high marks from participants.

The Economic and Commercial Advisors of the Greek Embassies in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Romania and Serbia presented the business opportunities that exist for Greek companies in these countries as well as the sectors of interest. Next, more than 200 individual meetings were held during which the participating companies had the opportunity to obtain specific information relevant to a particular industry or product.

The feedback from participants was that the workshop was extremely useful, as they received information on these potential markets briefly and effectively, acquired multiple contact points for later communication, and prospects for future business.

The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Enterprise Greece, Grigoris Stergioulis, said: "The agency firmly believes in the potential of the region and wants to strengthen its cooperation with the neighboring countries of the Balkans. For this reason, following consultations with the Economic and Commercial Affairs Offices of the Greek Embassies and the sectoral organizations, we set up a targeted program of actions to deepen Greek export efforts in our immediate neighborhood and […] re-discover the business opportunities and capabilities of Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Romania and Serbia."
